To mark the 15th anniversary of the picture book artist duo The Cabin Company, their first major solo exhibition, “Dōdō Sanka,” is being held. KOO-KI was responsible for the animation segment of the exhibited work “Clouds and Monuke.” Based on the directive to make it chaotic and free, we focused on staying true to The Cabin Company’s unique world and direction in our production. It was a lot of fun bringing these vibrant, life-filled works to life!

Opening movie for “ResorTech EXPO 2024 in Okinawa,” one of Okinawa Prefecture’s largest DX exhibitions. The lines of light running across the screen express Okinawa and the world being connected through digital technology. This work was also used as an in-venue presentation film, and by carefully refining every detail so that the various displays installed throughout Okinawa Arena would operate in perfect synchronization, it created a sense of unity and cohesion across the entire venue.

For the 30th anniversary title in the "Pawapuro" series, the opening movie was once again produced by Konami Digital Entertainment × KOO-KI. As a fitting culmination of Pawapuro’s 30-year history, it brings together planning materials, artwork and opening sequences from past titles, as well as legendary alumni from across the series, creating an opening that lets you look back on all 30 years at once. A complete departure from the youthful image of the previous work, this time it was created with a focus on coolness and spectacle, moving from the glorious past to the future. In the first half of the opening, various Pawapuro-related elements are scattered throughout, so we hope you’ll find them and enjoy looking back together.

KOO-KI’s Keita Uehara directed the opening of SANCTUARY, the Netflix series by director Kan Eguchi of KOO-KI. The powerful physique of a sumo wrestler! The dynamic energy created by the scattering salt! To further amplify the momentum and tension of the main story, the opening was crafted with a bold, edgy approach. By the way, filming was done after removing the building portion of the sumo stable set at Toho Studios.

A short movie that makes watching rugby a little more fun (5 episodes in total, 30 seconds each). It introduces rugby trivia under the supervision of Mr. Kazuhiro Tamura, editor-in-chief of Rugby Magazine. You can’t help but eavesdrop on the old man’s muttered remarks! This explanatory movie lets you enjoy the banter between a casual rugby fan and a charming old man while also learning about rugby in a solid, engaging way.

“LIVE BOARD,” Japan’s first digital OOH advertising platform that sells ads based on impressions. For its digital OOH, KOO-KI produced filler videos that run between ads. We created two types: “The Vision That Knows a Lot” and “Turning the Seasons” (four spring and summer variations). Since they are 15-second silent spots, we aimed to make them eye-catching at a glance and pleasant to watch no matter how many times they play.

Description: To help young people discover the appeal of becoming a tax accountant and aspire to the profession, this piece was created in an RPG-style animation. It was produced to convey the many facets of the tax accountant profession through game-like skills and traits unique to the role, such as defeating daunting tasks (bosses) with a huge workload and overcoming difficulties brilliantly with knowledge (magic). Effects, sound effects, and BGM were used to boost that image and add to the player’s sense of excitement. Incidentally, generative AI was used in part of the background illustration production.

“Powerful Pro Baseball: Eikan Nine Crossroad” Branding Movie

The hugely popular “Eikyo Nine” mode from the Pawapuro series is now available in the smartphone app version. Following the worldview of the opening movie for “eBASEBALL Pawafuru Pro Yakyu 2022,” this piece is structured as a branding movie for a game focused on high school baseball, rapidly presenting moments of “aoharu” one after another. The protagonists are nameless high school baseball players. And yet, the players who gave their all and raced through three years are surely here. That was the feeling I aimed to leave behind through the direction of this piece. Once again, everyone on the in-house Pawapuro team shared their own ideas of “aoharu,” packing them into even the finest details of each cut. Through this video, I hope viewers will reflect on everyone’s hot summer, not just the players’, and enjoy playing the game.
