Created as the first installment of the “Time-Efficient Folktale Series,” which challenges the limits of information compression by using low-resolution pixel-art animation techniques and the familiarity of Japanese folktales, this is a parody video of Momotaro that ends just 20 seconds after it begins. The background music was composed by deconstructing the folk song “Momotaro” to the point where only the barest trace of the original remains.

As the second installment of the “Time-Efficient Folktale Series,” which challenges itself to compress information to the absolute limit by using low-resolution pixel-art animation techniques and the familiarity of Japanese folktales, this parody video of Urashimataro ends in just 16 seconds from start to finish, following the first installment, “Momotaro That Ends in 20 Seconds.” A song based on the folk song “Urashima Taro,” deconstructed to the point where only traces of the original remain, was produced and used as the background music.

[Story] This is the story of Ray and Anne, continuing from KASHIKA01. Anne appears before Ray, who is living a listless life…!? [Technique] For the visuals in the chorus, I centered them around dance. I created the choreography, captured it with motion capture, added camera work, and then recreated it as hand-drawn animation. I also incorporated plenty of motion graphics and dot-style expressions to convey a pop world, with the intention of creating visual expression not usually seen in traditional 2D animation.
