At the Maltine Records 20th anniversary event held at Spotify O-EAST, I created the visual direction for yuigot’s performance. I made visuals for six songs. All of the graphics were created through programming, composited with live-action footage and other elements in After Effects, and some parts were performed live in real time.

Mizuho Financial Group - TV Commercial (Animated Version)

I directed three TV commercials introducing the business of Mizuho Financial Group. The commercial features Natsuki Deguchi, and the music is by Kabanagu. This was my first time directing commercials, and with guidance from Masaki Ueda and the production team, I completed the project over a three-month process that included storyboarding, filming, and editing. I also created the motion design for the text myself.

Words of Fireworks

Description: I was invited as an artist to DIG SHIBUYA 2026, an event hosted by Shibuya City, and exhibited a video work on the wall of Shibuya PARCO. I turned a personal piece of writing that I felt was in my own words rather than someone else’s into fireworks and presented it in a public space. Light Texture - Video for Public Spaces

Description: We created three video works for the signage at Takashimaya in Futako-Tamagawa. After receiving the commission, I stayed overnight in Futako-Tamagawa and took a walk around the area. The reflections of the sky and houses on the water of the Tama River were striking. The vivid blue, bright and dark greens, brown, yellow, and red also stayed in my mind. Since local residents would see it as part of the scenery of their daily lives, I wanted to create something interesting while blending in as naturally as possible with the local landscape.

Royal Blue - Video Direction

At the live performance “Royal Blue” by the band MARQUEE BEACH CLUB, I handled the visual direction throughout the entire 70-minute show. With the theme of “visual music” as an equal partner to music, I used software I developed myself in C++ to create the visuals by “performing” them on a PC while listening to the music. I call this DTV, or Desktop Visuals, in contrast to DTM. Centering on real-time generated visuals, I explored a new visual experience for live music performances.

At an event held at CIRCUS TOKYO in Shibuya, I performed VJ for Lewo Chyba. Using software I programmed myself, I played visuals improvisationally by striking the controller like a musical instrument.

In the music video for PAPERMOON by higma + Hoshimiya Toto, I designed and captured the virtual space. By reconstructing 3D models photogrammetrically captured from locations all across Japan, from Hokkaido to Kagoshima, I created a space where dreams and reality intermingle. The entire video, including the outdoor scenes, was filmed while wearing a VR headset.

AMBIENT KYOTO - Visual Design

"Moving Logo Manual" for the audiovisual art event AMBIENT KYOTO. In response to Seri Tanaka’s idea for the logo design — “a design that unfolds on its own by eliminating the designer’s intentional intervention and creating only a system” — I proposed making all the motion with a computer program. I wrote the algorithm in C++ code, ran it, changed the parameters, and looked at it again, repeating that process. This was my own interpretation of ambient. For me, “code” and “ambient” are synonymous.

Iino × Tokyo International Film Festival - Visual Design

In a tie-up project with the Tokyo International Film Festival, we created the visual production for “iino,” a mobility vehicle developed by a venture company in Osaka. It was a challenging project in which we mounted a projector on the mobility vehicle traveling through the Marunouchi district and projected images onto buildings.

The 2nd Monji to Club - VJ

I performed VJing at “Mojito Club,” an event hosted by DJs Reochiba and Shunsuke Kudo. Using VJ software I programmed myself, I played the visuals live for about two hours by tapping an 8x8 MIDI controller on the spot. I focused on the commonality between techno music, which “creates rhythm by placing sounds appropriately,” and typography, which “creates rhythm by placing letters appropriately.”

The 4th: Letters and Club - Spatial Design and VJ

Description: I was in charge of the spatial design for “Moji to Club,” an event that presents club culture in an easy-to-understand way through the use of text. This time, with the theme of “blank space and dispersion,” I created a space that left room for visitors to experience the club on their own terms. By scattering various media throughout the space, such as paper, displays, printers, and pen plotters, and outputting text written by the DJs performing at the event, I aimed to let visitors imagine the personalities of the DJs. On a personal level, I’m tired of the sheer volume of information in everyday life, so I wanted just a little bit of light in the darkness.

At Nanao Akari’s experimental livestream concert, I created the visual direction for “Raika.” The performance was filmed at Zepp Shinjuku, where Nanao Akari and the band performed against a massive LED screen backdrop. I experimented with various approaches to visually match the song’s dense sound.

We created a motion logo and logo movie for “hakuhodo DXD,” a digital and design specialist team at Hakuhodo. Rather than using existing software, we built the motion from the ground up through C++ coding. As a result, it is a responsive motion graphic that flexibly adapts to the aspect ratios of both PCs and smartphones.

The composition and movement of the letters do not align with their meanings. The letters were freed from the meanings they carry and treated as mere rhythmic forms. The locations and styling were infused with the four seasons.
