train Isn’t there something ahead? I move forward, thinking there must be something beautiful. There was nothing ahead that I imagined. I know things won’t go the way I want, but I still keep searching. Still, if I keep walking, maybe there will be something there, so I go on. I often ride trains.　 I board without thinking about anything, or about where I’m going. My imagination expands, wondering whether there might be something at the end of the train’s journey. Riding a train is like the path I’ve taken so far. I can’t help imagining that there must be something ideal waiting ahead. But the path I’ve walked has been very different from what I imagined. Trains often go into tunnels. If I ride without thinking about anything, the train emerges from the tunnel. My imagination runs freely, as if there must be something ahead. When the train comes out of the tunnel, the thing I’m looking for should surely be there. While thinking about this work, I realized that my life is like riding a train, as if I were going in search of something certain. There is something certain. I aimed to create a work that goes in search of something, to find something.
