It was made with feelings of love for one’s hometown where one was born and raised, the resolve to keep moving forward on one’s own path, and pride in the life one has walked so far. .ENDRECHERI. Tsuyoshi Domoto’s heartfelt rearrangement of “Machi,” the singer-songwriter debut song he released in 2002, revisited 22 years later in 2024. Starting from Nara, Tsuyoshi’s hometown, the piece depicts each scene with the image of moving eastward through Osaka, Aichi, and Tokyo. It was mainly produced as 2D cutout animation with digital drawing, and the two opening shots of the character’s movement were created using rotoscoping.

This is a documentary film about the Satsuma ware Shinzukan kiln, whose roots trace back to the Korean Peninsula. We were responsible for the animated sequences depicting the ancestors of the Shin family who washed ashore, as well as the presence of the previous-generation 14th Shinzukan.

Japan Heritage "Nyonin Koya, Alive Today with Women" PR Video

This PR video introduces the story of the Japan Heritage site, “Nyonin Koya, Living on with Women — A Healing Sanctuary That Watches Over Us Across Time and Adapts to the Times.” We were in charge of the animated portions featuring three university students. It was produced using rotoscoping, a technique in which live-action footage of people is redrawn frame by frame.

This is the four-day process of a wildfire approaching a small village at the end of the Edo period. In an era shrouded by the invisible anxiety of the coronavirus pandemic, and swept up by rumors and information in which truth and falsehood are hard to distinguish, this work portrays the people of a small community in a bygone age who were forced to protect themselves and faced a crisis together. The personified flames were created by filming a performer’s pantomime of fire in live action, then using rotoscoping to redraw it from live action into animation.
