Director
Born in 1994.
After studying film at Musashino Art University, he has since directed a wide range of work, including commercials, music videos, and short films.

Drawing on handcrafted, craft-like methods and a slightly rough, textured sensibility, he specializes in cinematic expression that captures a filmic look and the “humidity” of a place.

During his student years, he apprenticed under a wayang kulit shadow puppeteer in Bali and even performed on stage as a storyteller. That experience became the root of his approach to drawing out the spirit of a place and building mechanisms and narrative as a seamless whole.

Ideas and devices are embedded in a way that resonates with the story.
Deliberately revealing a hint of the “mechanism” is a way of leaving a trace of the maker behind.
When viewers suddenly become aware of the structure and warmth that lie beneath the story, the work shifts from something to be simply watched into something that connects with their own senses.
He believes that the groove that lives in that moment is the most compelling part of filmmaking.

From an energetic tactile quality to a deep, quiet stillness.
Across genres, he continues to pursue the “heat” of moving images born from the collision between physicality and imagination.

The joy of playing with miniature cars as a child. We brought that sense of immersion and excitement to the screen by fusing the warmth of handcraft with modern technology. The art direction was built by the director and production team using reclaimed materials. The character and background illustrations were also developed through repeated trial and error, down to the paper quality, printing, and finishing methods, in pursuit of textures that would suit the world of the film. Working with a small crew, we brought AI in as a “partner” for processes beyond our capacity. Rather than using the generated output as-is, we layered it with human touch, warmth, and texture, carefully bringing out the contours of each material. Taking into account the product’s size and structural constraints, we carried out extensive testing in the planning of the direction, aiming to create a cohesive on-set environment.
