YUKARI is a highly accomplished art director, film director, and visual artist whose work spans fashion visuals, music videos, jacket artwork, and artist photography in Japan and internationally.
Born in Shanghai, China, she spent her childhood in an environment shaped by a blend of British and Asian cultures. After moving to Japan to study, she began her career as a film director and has since expanded her practice into graphic visual direction and production.
Known for visual expressions that balance softness and strength, she has created numerous fashion brand visuals, including global collections for DIESEL and H&M, as well as Japan campaigns for EMPORIO ARMANI and PUMA.
She has also led a wide range of graphic and moving image projects across fashion, music, and culture, including artist photography and jacket design for Nogizaka46’s “Actually...”, overall direction for the tour visuals of K-pop boy group NCT127, and directing music videos such as Ikuta Rira (YOASOBI)’s “Tanpopo” (theme song for the NHK drama The Legend of the Shogun Tokugawa) and Saucy Dog’s “Shion” (theme song for the film For My Love, the One I Lived For).
