The character’s movements (Live2D) and synchronized lighting were used to express sync with the sound.

TV anime “Zenshu.” ED theme A video work combining illustration, UI design, and live action. -- The illustrator was kawa. Using a color-specified line draft, often seen in key animation production, as one of the looks, we prepared three different looks along with line art and coloring. We delicately visualized the process through which a work is created, and the life of its creator, by weaving live action into the imagery. All live-action footage was shot by going out myself, and from the cold winter dawn to sunset, I captured spaces that conveyed a sense of warmth. With assistance from Jaga (SHIFTZ), who is well versed in live-action filming, we shot aimlessly while searching for “everyday yet powerful landscapes” that suit this song. -- We created this work with a single-minded desire to deliver the struggles and joys of creation to everyone who creates, or is about to begin creating.

　

Official trailer for the 12th New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival. Using natural motifs such as ripples, droplets, and the moon, I wanted to express the festival’s divine energy and a pure admiration for the works. I also used AI to transform hand-drawn 2D animation into three-dimensional, realistic water, making it possible to “move water,” something that had previously been difficult to achieve. On the other hand, I intentionally reduced the image quality and frame rate of the AI-generated footage, and composed the music with a deliberately simple, primal feel, aiming to evoke the festival’s atmosphere where “warmth and sharpness intersect.”

SOUL BUBBLE is an immersive art installation that visualises an individual’s mental and physical state. Inside a space surrounded by eleven screens, visitors sit on a single-seat sofa equipped with AI and sensors. The sofa reads changes in posture and centre of gravity, heart rate, breathing, and hand movements, visualising these signals in real time. States of mind and body such as relaxation, focus, tension, anxiety, excitement, meditation, and confusion are analysed and transformed into microbial-like patterns that spread throughout the entire space. At the end of the experience, the participant’s own behavioural data is projected onto the screens, stored, and used to advance the AI system. As more participants join, individual and collective data accumulate, revealing differences, distributions, and new tendencies. This ongoing process continually evolves the installation, forming an endless archive that keeps recording human states. Interestingly, many visitors were highly interested in their own results and came expecting to find a pattern of “high relaxation.” SOUL BUBBLE gently envelops the body like a bubble, while also presenting itself as a prototype for future sensing devices, where technology stays close to the body, responds to the soul, and brings to light the hidden layers beneath mind and existence.

NHK Minna no Uta, broadcast from April to May 2025 This animation was created to accompany the song “Yūyake ga Umareru Machi,” by Ikimono Gakari meets Humbert Humbert. It was made with feelings of love for one’s hometown where one was born and raised, the resolve to keep moving forward on one’s own path, and pride in the life one has walked so far. The video posted here is an excerpt without audio. Please be sure to watch the full version with audio on the broadcast.

Music video submitted for the song submission event “VocaDuo2025.” I was responsible for the visuals. Using the optical property that “red disappears as water depth increases,” I translated it into imagery as a metaphor for loss and the fading of memory over time. By varying the lyric design in the poetry section depicting rapid submersion, and employing an overall fantastical color palette, I created a visually quiet yet strongly narrative composition, resulting in a work that appeals to the viewer’s imagination.

The Design Ah! Exhibition neo, held at TOKYO NODE GALLERY from April 2025 Mametarou participated by creating the clutch video. The mesmerizing visuals, which let viewers immerse themselves in Mametaro’s signature “just barely” and “squishy” sensations, blend a slight tension into their comfort, creating a strange feeling that makes it impossible to look away.
