I was responsible for the direction and editing of the opening and pre-show videos for HENNGE Inc.'s new product launch event, “HENNGE Unveiled 2026.” Based on this event’s theme of next-generation zero-trust strategy, I expressed the idea of new solutions in an uncertain era through ever-changing visuals, where contours dissolve and then reemerge. By reworking the key visual into a dynamic sequence and using continuously transforming shapes, the piece conveys the company’s forward-evolving stance and anticipation for the new product.

TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY Future Experience Theater "This City Will Be Your Wings"

In March 2025, TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, a new urban district directly connected to JR Takanawa Gateway Station and one of the largest in central Tokyo, opened to the public. On the same site, THE LINKPILLAR 1 and Takanawa Gateway Station also fully opened. The remaining buildings will be completed and the grand opening will take place in spring 2026. From March 27 to June 28, the “Future Experience Theater” was open to the public at THE LINKPILLAR 1. WOW was responsible for planning, directing, and producing the film screened in this theater. Under the mission of “experiencing TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY through film,” we chose an approach centered not on explanatory direction, but on storytelling that encourages emotional engagement. Featuring a modern-day boy as the protagonist, the story is set as a time-travel journey through Takanawa’s memories and the future envisioned for this city. Through the boy’s eyes, it portrays urban life and human connections born from history and culture, with the aim of creating a story that would inspire people who may one day live here to feel hope and anticipation for TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY. The music was commissioned from the alternative rock band hitsujibungaku. The immersive experience of the full 3DCG film projected in a 180-degree cylindrical theater, combined with the world of the film woven by hitsujibungaku’s music, created an even more emotional viewing experience. We were responsible for the direction, design, and editing of the concept movie for “MotionBoard,” the business intelligence tool provided by WingArc 1st. The new version of “MotionBoard,” equipped with generative AI, makes analysis and board creation more intuitive and has evolved significantly in usability, enabling not only engineers but also frontline staff to develop business applications and leverage data in-house with greater ease. In the video, we depict data spreading through an abstract world and being handled with light, effortless operations, expressing its freedom of use and sense of innovation. Furthermore, by using soft colors and a friendly tone, we soften the rigid and difficult image often associated with BI tools, creating an impression that is approachable and easy for anyone to use.

We were responsible for the direction, design, and editing of the teaser video for Fuji Television Network, Inc.’s drama If the World Were a Stage, Where Would the Dressing Room Be? This serial drama, for which Koki Mitani is writing the script for the first time in 25 years, is an ensemble coming-of-age story set in Shibuya in 1984. Centered on the theater that holds the key to the story, it features a single-take composition in which Kube, played by Masaki Suda, looks straight into the camera. A parallax effect that makes the cast names appear to float in space evokes the scale and atmosphere of the stage. We brought the world of the drama to life through fonts and designs reminiscent of the Showa era.

In the initial concept, we truly entrusted part of the production to AI, exploring a singularity-like structure: what does it mean for AI to possess a self and express itself? However, while AI is suited to producing “something similar” as a form of collective intelligence, when it comes to depicting “the beauty within unease” or “human-like misalignment,” human hands were inevitably necessary. As a result, we shifted to a design in which AI expressions are “intentionally reconstructed by humans,” arriving at a paradoxical approach in which humans manually create the very condition of AI’s “imperfection.” We have designed it as a game, in a sense: a contrastive device that highlights human creativity by having humans deliberately create something AI-like.

We created a concept movie for “EXPO WORLDs – Osaka-Kansai Expo OPEN DESIGN PROJECT.” As multiple “worlds” resonate with one another to co-create a new future—EXPO WORLDs is an open design project that aims to infuse the entire Osaka-Kansai Expo venue with the color and vitality of “life,” while designing for open participation. To visualize the philosophy and vision of this project, we built a world through visuals and sound and expressed it as a movie. People, nature, and technology meet, overlap, and resonate. Announcement of “DENIM DEPOT UNIVERSE,” a limited capsule collection by “FACETASM,” led by Hiromichi Ochiai, and Amsterdam-based denim brand “G-STAR RAW.” Stills and a PR movie, with total direction by C.O.L.O / COSMIC LAB, have been unveiled. By wearing clothing, humans have challenged harsh environments such as outer space and the ocean floor, gaining freedom and creativity. Under this theme, scenes were created that seamlessly connect everyday life with adventures to unknown places. The filming location was the “Misono Universe Building,” a venue that has been ahead of its time since the 1950s. Inspired by NASA archives, the denim designs and the one-of-a-kind space of the Misono Building resonated with each other, giving rise to a new creation.

About the Project As part of a technical tutorial on video production for the “PLATEAU” project promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, WOW was responsible for planning, producing, and directing a video work themed around Niigata Prefecture. PLATEAU provides 3D city models from across Japan as open data, helping to drive digital transformation in urban development and foster open innovation. In this project, we created a film, tutorial, and hands-on video using Niigata Prefecture’s 3D city model. Through this effort, we explored the creative potential and expressive possibilities of PLATEAU. Video Work “NIIGATA WONDER by PLATEAU” With the ظهور of a dragon, the god of water, mysterious gigantic objects begin to appear in various places across Niigata Prefecture. Their true identities are Niigata’s famous local specialties: Tochio Aburaage, sasadango, poppo-yaki, hegi soba, and snow crab. Guided by the dragon, these giant local delicacies eventually gather at Bandai Bridge in the center of Niigata City—. Combining a 3D model of Niigata City, live-action footage, and VFX, the work portrays the character and unique qualities of the city on a grand scale as a “fictional PR video.” PLATEAU PLATEAU is a project to realize digital twins of cities across Japan, promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in collaboration with a variety of stakeholders. It develops 3D city models as platform data for urban activity and creates use cases across diverse fields. In addition, PLATEAU provides 3D city models as open data so that anyone can freely access urban data. By advancing the development, utilization, and open-data deployment of 3D city models, PLATEAU aims to realize digital transformation in urban development and generate open innovation.

Film direction for BRUTUS Furniture craftsman Yuuichi Hamada works out of a workshop in Maibara, Shiga Prefecture. He recreates world-renowned chairs, mainly those born in the 20th century, as one-fifth-scale models. In many cases, his work begins with drawing up plans by hand from photographs and reference materials. Not only the shape, but also the texture and color of materials such as wood, metal, and fabric are reproduced so faithfully that at first glance, you would never know they were models. When he once visited Hans Wegner in Denmark, Wegner reportedly praised one piece, saying, “This is not a model. It is the real thing.” With those words in his heart, he continues today to create the next work, one chair at a time.

In this film, I sought to express that quiet, understated presence.

I wanted them to fall in love with this city, and before I knew it, I was looking at my own city with fresh eyes. Even the familiar scenery looks somehow new today. The person I was when I first came to this city on that day overlaps with the person I am now.
