Produced for the re-release of dj newtown’s early work on streaming services. Centered on the concept of what youth is, it was defined as a state in which one can pursue, to an excessive degree, a value system that leaves objective standards behind. As one example of the direction, it creates an overloaded state by excessively packing in techniques such as audiovisual synchronization, which are said to provide pleasure. To express a positive sense of resignation toward quotation and sampling, it was composed entirely of assets obtained from the Unity Asset Store.

Miho Hazama, the jazz composer born in Tokyo and now based in New York, who serves as chief conductor of the Danish Radio Big Band, created her latest album, “Imaginary Visions,” while traveling between the three cities of Copenhagen, New York, and Tokyo. Set to the track “I Said Cool, You Said… What?”, this interactive music video was conceived by Hazama herself so that viewers can enjoy the music while catching glimpses of each city and feeling as though they are the director. TV anime “Ranking of Kings” Cour 1 ending theme “Oz.” The animation was created around the concept of “two people who have each experienced being alone, facing their own loneliness and meeting one another.”

I was in charge of the animation for NHK Minna no Uta’s “Boku no Naka no Guitar Case” (“Me Inside the Guitar Case”). The image that came to mind was of a humble, steadfast me, living each day while carrying worries and anxieties. Turning the various thoughts and realizations that arise in everyday life into music, and that music enriching my life. I wanted to depict that adorable little life. I also felt that this song was not only for those who dream of becoming musicians, but for everyone who is pursuing different kinds of dreams. So I decided to make the animation feel like a collection of pieces from an ordinary, simple life. This time, the protagonist is me, carrying a guitar case, but I think many of you may find your own lives reflected in it as well. I hope your everyday lives will come to feel dear and precious to you. *The video shown is silent due to licensing restrictions.

In a certain city, at a certain time, the lives of three strangers cross for a brief moment.

Nissan Pavilion, an experiential entertainment facility where visitors can experience Nissan’s proud technologies and vision for the future, opened for a limited time in Yokohama Minato Mirai. Its concept is “Expanding Human Possibilities.” Among the experiential content that gives form to a near-future made possible by Nissan’s technology, WOW was responsible for the direction and production of THE CITY area. Visitors can experience an installation inspired by a “city energized by the connection between cars, people, and society.” In THE CITY, two of Nissan’s envisioned futures were visualized within the space. ROOM1 In a smoke-filled space, 195 laser modules and the motors that move them were installed. Each laser is individually controlled to create a variety of animations, and when a visitor enters the area, the system detects their presence and takes evasive action, making it an interactive space. This abstractly expresses the key sensing technologies that Nissan is pursuing in order to realize a society with zero traffic accidents. ROOM2 Approximately 150 translucent pillars of varying heights, abstracting a “city,” and three pillars with mock car units placed on top, representing “cars,” were arranged throughout the space, with all pillars self-illuminated. The light animations representing “CHARGE,” “SHARE,” and “SUPPLY,” which begin when a hand is placed over the car mock-up, express Nissan’s vision of a city energized through the sharing of energy and information. In addition, when hands are placed over all three pillars with the mock-ups at the same time, a special effect triggers a vividly colorful light animation. The production was designed to evoke a city that becomes increasingly vibrant as cars, people, and society connect. Both spaces were designed as immersive environments that, while abstract, allow visitors to feel Nissan’s vision for the future. SONICJAM.Studio was responsible for producing the concept movie for “GOOD DESIGN SHOW 2021,” which discusses the more than 1,600 Good Design selections chosen for the 2021 fiscal year, as well as the signage video for Shibuya Station Big Signage Premium and Umeda Metro Vision. In the concept movie, we expressed the celebratory feeling of the Good Design Award and the different ways of thinking and perspectives brought about by design through bubble-like motion graphics, building a story around the lively image of many diverse participants interacting with one another. For the signage video, we created motion that always kept the visuals moving to catch the attention of passersby, and designed it to be seamless so that the “Good Design Award” could be promoted from any scene. In the teaser video displayed from October 18, 2021, lively typography and scene transitions heightened anticipation for the announcement of this year’s award-winning works, and in the main video, which switched over in time for the Good Design Award announcement on October 20, we clearly and neatly showcased more than 1,600 award-winning works while using typography motion at key moments to draw the attention of people passing by.
