We were responsible for the direction, design, and editing of the concept movie for “HENNGE One,” a service provided by HENNGE Inc. HENNGE One is the No. 1 cloud security service in Japan, helping organizations improve productivity. By actively adopting cutting-edge technologies and transforming itself, it drives change in the world. We expressed this sense of innovation through modern, bold graphics, and conveyed its strong ability to adapt to changing times with fast-paced, impactful animation.

The method of making the reel was designed as a grid system in the time dimension. Rather than cutting from the full-length footage each time, I chose an editing approach in which short sequences were pre-cut and then rearranged like a puzzle. By defining the production process itself, the aim was to give the final output a tone independent of any individual worker, layering in the magic of division of labor and collaboration.

I participated in and created this work for the logo movie project “Hulu IDs” for the U.S. version of the streaming service Hulu. I aimed to create an animation style that was energetic and exciting above all else. The music was made together with a friend I have worked with since my student days. As for the singing, I wanted to create a Japanese song that people overseas could enjoy too, so I chose Japanese words whose pronunciation I found appealing, regardless of their meaning, and arranged them to fit the melody. 「音楽の魅力を伝える」というミッションのもと、スペースシャワーTVのステーションIDをライブハウスやクラブで音楽に没入したオーディエンスの内省的な世界を描いた。音楽のリズムやビートに身を委ねることで身体はパウルクレーの絵画を彷彿させるような抽象的な造形になってリスナーは音楽の一部となって溶け込み、カラーライトを浴びたような非現実的な色彩を帯びて鮮やかな音楽体験をアニメーションで比喩した。

I created a station ID video for CGWORLD. In a composition where signals of creativity spread through a pristine digital space, and diverse materials and objects are generated one after another to build a unique world, I visualized the worldview of computer graphics, which enables free and diverse forms of expression. As accents, I included neon objects in the style of primitive shapes such as cubes and polyhedra, which are familiar to CG creators. This video was first unveiled at CGWORLD 2022 Creative Conference, one of the largest CG conference events in Japan.

I created the logo motion for apbankfes ’23 ~Society, Life and Music~. ap bank fes began in 2005 as an event where people could think about environmental issues while listening to music in a familiar setting, and as a place to put various initiatives into practice. ※ ap bank was established in 2003 with funds contributed at the self-responsibility of three people: music producer Takeshi Kobayashi, Kazutoshi Sakurai of Mr.Children, and Ryuichi Sakamoto, the founder of the Artists’ Power project, which promotes natural energy through artists. (quoted from the official website) Based on the concept embodied in the logo design, I created a motion and video sequence in which each element writhes and comes alive.

Space Shower TV’s newly launched STATION ID series, “Every life has a soundtrack.” This series consists of four parts, and together they ultimately portray the life of one person, from old age to middle age, youth, and childhood. As the first installment, it depicts “old age” and is a collaboration with ROTH BART BARON, a Japanese indie folk band formed in 2008 by singer-songwriter Masaya Mifune. Based on the given theme of “joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure,” we imagined a single flower as one person, and expressed the image of a flower in its final years looking back over the various emotions it has felt in the past—“joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure”—like a flood of memories.
