Originally from the Philippines and a graduate of iACADEMY School of Design, he attended an international school and was influenced from an early age by Japanese illustration and animation. Drawing on a strong sense of color, he excels in creating hybrid works that combine illustration, hand-drawn animation, and 3D, with a particular strength in Japanese and European-style expression. Aaron is a graduate of iACADEMY School of Design, one of the Philippines’ leading design schools. His independent graduation film, “Simple Decisions,” was awarded Best Thesis in 2D Animation by the school. He specializes in 2D animation combined with 3D elements and has experience in post-production.

Commentary: My first meeting with Kanta was in the spring of our first year of college, at a club meet-and-greet. The duo known as Mizutamari Bond was formed about eight months later, on January 1. Our first stage performance was at Shinjuku Fu Live on January 8. The following January 1, we began posting videos every day on YouTube. Two years after that, we decided to make our way into society as Mizutamari Bond. (Tominaga repeated a year.) Was it fate that two people who are opposites in every way would continue doing this together? I think it was a miracle. If we had met even one day earlier, if we had formed our duo even one day later, if we hadn’t performed that bit at our first stage show, maybe we wouldn’t be together now. I’m not saying things like, “We’re a miraculous duo!” But even if a time machine were invented and I could go back to the past, I wouldn’t go. And even if I did, I’d definitely come back having done nothing. “If Mizutamari Bond Had Met in High School” is a work created from those feelings.

Excerpt from the synopsis on the official NHK website "The war that Japan waged across Asia and the Pacific. The Olympics scheduled to be held in Tokyo in 1940 were canceled, becoming a phantom event. The athletes expected to shine disappeared from the public stage amid an era engulfed by war. In this program, we trace the paths of those athletes together with competitive swimmer Kosuke Kitajima, soccer player Makoto Hasebe, and track and field athlete Seiji Arahori. Among the athletes who went to the battlefield and never returned, it has also become clear that some were used as 'symbols' of war. It has also become apparent that there were people who sought to protect the spirit of sport itself against the state and the military, which tried to control sports and make them fully cooperate with the war effort. One such figure is Isaku Matsuzawa, who served as a swimming coach. This time, several hundred items of Matsuzawa's materials have also been discovered. Now, with 2020 approaching, the program sheds light on the reality of the war that stripped athletes of their dignity, while also examining the turbulent lives of the athletes who pursued the spirit of sport and of Matsuzawa."

As part of the first anniversary celebration for the Taiwanese smartphone game #Sabakaku, we produced a short anime at EARIN. As with the previous project, Kawasaki served as director. The character design and chief animation direction for the anime were handled by Kuroiwa, who joined EARIN this year. Also joining EARIN this year, Aaron took on the challenge of Japanese-style animation drawing for the first time. A large number of staff members participated, working in collaboration with both in-house and external teams.
