Jiutian Xuannü is a goddess in Chinese mythology who presides over strategy and military tactics. She is also a fairy who often rescues people and values righteousness. In ancient times, it is said that Jiutian Xuannü taught military strategy to the Yellow Emperor and helped him defeat Chiyou. Jiutian Xuannü is not only a goddess of justice, but also symbolizes the purification of the human heart. By connecting ancient landscapes with the scenery of a modern town in this work, it conveys the idea that the ideal of peaceful coexistence between humanity and nature remains unchanged from past to present. Linking “myth” to “Dunhuang,” and using an artistic expression reminiscent of the mural paintings found in the grottoes, helps convey a sense of transcending time to the viewer. The flow of the video takes inspiration from ancient handscrolls, the oldest form of book binding, creating a work rich in the beauty of antiquity.
