ExperienceInstallationKinetic Is There Soko ni Iru 2024, 2025 00:01:26 This work is a kinetic installation that prompts us to question what we perceive as “materiality” and “reality” by giving droplets movement and evoking a sense of water that differs from the forms of water we encounter in everyday life. By blending the “waterness” of water itself with the “waterness” suggested by its form and movement, it creates both the familiar and the unfamiliar image of water. Because water is such a familiar substance in our daily lives, we know its behavior through everyday experience. The appearance of water, which sometimes seems almost biological and at other times animated, produces a gap between it and the water we know. The work was exhibited at Ars Electronica in 2024, and presented as a solo exhibition at art space kimura ASK? P in February 2025.
ExperienceInstallationKinetic co-exist 2025 00:01:05 An audiovisual work that encounters the extraordinary within reality through a form of water that differs from everyday experience. Using water droplets, this work draws on the phenomena and properties of droplets while uncovering a dynamic form of water that differs from the ordinary. From both visual and auditory perspectives, it explores the presence of an extraordinary substance within the everyday, and offers an experience in which the viewer and the water droplets coexist, sharing the same space and time.

Using TouchDesigner on two PCs, they share and synchronize cameras, rendering 3D objects generated by each artist so that they coexist within a single world. The two artists’ visuals are continuously composited into a single image through various blending methods, dissolving the boundaries between the images. In this work, the visuals are generated and evolve in real time without interruption throughout the DJ set. Beginning with a quiet monochrome introduction, the performance moves through scene-like motifs such as aquariums and gardens, then builds toward a climax where the number of colors and the density of objects increase and the motion becomes more intense, before returning once again to a quiet screen. All visuals are generated and controlled in real time on site, and by adjusting the parameters that shape the imagery in response to the DJ set’s progression and the conditions of the venue, the artists create a one-time, vividly live performance.
