I searched for algorithms whose names begin with each of the 26 letters from A to Z, and used them to create animated typography. Since the rise of NFTs, the genre of generative art has been undergoing renewed reevaluation. Although I have spent many years writing code and making works myself, when asked, “What is generative art?” I often find myself unsure how to answer. At the core of generative art are algorithms. Of course, one can create one’s own, but there are already many “masterpiece” algorithms in existence. In this work, I reimplemented those algorithms in JavaScript. Through this project, I want to think about the appeal of coding and algorithms, apart from art or design. It is also an attempt to place value on the process, which is often overlooked in the age of AI, and to once again draw out the joy of implementation.

CM for the launch of ONLINE PARCO. The cellular automaton was customized. Since it is a CM for ONLINE, it was created using browser technology (JS + WebGL).

An interactive video work created for NIKE AIR MAX DAY 2024 Dynamic Land, held in Shinjuku Kabukicho. The theme was “common sense starts to go off the rails.” Images from the camera are distorted in real time using the classical technique of slit-scan. This piece was created in Unity, and by combining 3D Texture and Shader, it aims to achieve more complex visual transformations than conventional slit-scan.

A moving logo to be placed on the website of MuDA, the Digital Museum in Zurich, Switzerland. It moves in real time, and when clicked, it occasionally produces moments of great beauty, though most of the time it is ordinary or bad.
