Commentary: “Kimyō na Kankei,” a solo project by composer and arranger Kaoru Okubo. Bringing together two artists he respects, he has produced a new work of visuals and music. The grand story woven by lyricist Seiko Oomori is depicted by illustrator Kaoru Aoyagi with a delicate yet passionate touch. I had the privilege of powerfully and delicately directing the inner turmoil of a boy living in a decadent near-future world.

Created using collage animation techniques so as to expand the world of warm melodies and uplifting lyrics. The feelings embedded in the lyrics are expressed through sensory graphics.

Description: “Diabetes 3-Minute Learning” is a new type of educational video series for people with diabetes, offering themed lessons of about three minutes each on the knowledge they should master. We were responsible for producing the opening animation. When it comes to learning about illness, it can seem difficult and a little intimidating, so we aimed to make the characters’ unique personalities and the world they inhabit feel warm and approachable, helping to ease that impression as much as possible. It received the Planning Encouragement Award at the “Eibunren Awards 2015.” We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone involved.
