The campaign “Spring Break,” created by JKD Collective for Airbnb China, is a series that takes viewers through four cities popular with Chinese millennials as spring break travel destinations: Okinawa, Taipei, Bangkok, and Seoul. A total of four videos were produced in a documentary style. The campaign concept is “Been There, Not Done Yet.” Even in famous tourist destinations you’ve already visited, there is always a deeper local culture known only to residents. By exploring some of Asia’s most notable travel spots from a local perspective, the campaign offered a unique and lesser-known way to experience travel. The Taipei edition of the campaign is a journey through the popular destination of Taipei, explored through sound. It is a documentary focused on the city’s latest music scene. For the music, the production collaborated with OVDS, a band active in the local bass music scene. With sophisticated sound design and thrilling camerawork by Naoki Noda, the film delves into the deeper layers of Taipei’s culture.

To set this apart from previous dance videos, I created the background entirely in CG. I produced it with the concept of dancing under the starry sky on a planet.

A work that explores lyric expression through tattoo graphics, based on the theme of digital tattoos. While incorporating a hard rock, retro feel, it aimed to fuse illustration, lyric design, motion graphics, and animation.

The contours of life’s existence are ambiguous, not defined by the boundary of the body itself, but by the surrounding environment that is continuous with it. This work is a massive sculpture group that continuously depicts the energy birds actually flying around it impart to the surrounding environment. When birds fly, their energy moves through the environment, such as the air. In the wind blowing here and now, the energy dissipated by the birds is depicted as the present moment’s wind is infused with the memory of the birds flying at this instant, and of the birds that flew from sunrise to sunset today. If no birds fly around the sculptures, this sculpture group becomes completely dark, dissolves into the darkness, and is almost nonexistent. On the island in the pond where the sculptures stand, in order to create an environment favorable to birds, plants that birds like are planted along with the sculptures, including vegetation that attracts the insects birds eat. This sculpture group comes into existence through birds gathering around these plants. However, birds, and insects as well, do not exist solely through the vegetation on the pond island; they exist through the forest and pond ecosystem of the vast botanical garden.
