- In 1996, he won the MTV Station ID Contest, which led to his joining MTV JAPAN the following year. After working at P.I.C.S., he became a freelancer. He has worked on numerous commercials and music videos. In addition to directing, he also handles art direction, motion graphics, editing, and even some music composition, earning a strong reputation for creating visuals that resonate with sound. He received the Best Art Direction award at The Asian Television Technical & Creative Awards 2003. In 2012, he joined KOO-KI. He directed the Tokyo Olympic bid PR film “Tomorrow begins,” which won the Members’ Award in the Video/ Digital Communication category at the KADC AWARD 2013. In 2015, he unveiled “SPORTING SPIRIT,” the largest-scale projection mapping in Japan, at Tokyo Big Sight. He continues to pursue visual expression that is not confined to the screen. In recent years, his work on the 777th anniversary video for Hakata-ori, “Kataori wa,” has won numerous awards in Japan and internationally, including the Fukuoka Advertising Association Award, the LIA, and the Telly Awards. On May 4, 2023, he directed the opening title sequence for the Netflix series Sanctuary, which drew attention alongside the popularity of the drama itself.
