A music video created for an in-game song from Bandai Namco Entertainment’s social game The Idolmaster Gakuen. The character Hanami Saki was a top athlete in track and field before aspiring to become an idol, and she has a past in which, due to being a late bloomer, she confronted the limits of her abilities at a young age and suffered setbacks. The song’s theme portrays her “setbacks and challenges,” making for an absurd tale in which she moves back and forth between the reality of the setbacks she experienced in the past and the uncertain glory of the future. In the end, she attempts to break through her own limits. To make this pulp-fiction-like story convincing, we aimed for a meditative music video in which the past and future are suspended, combining the image of sequential photographs that draw the viewer’s consciousness back into the past with animation that propels her into the future to the sound of drum and bass. The spirit of craving victory that she cultivated in her years as an athlete, caught between ideals and reality, shakes off notions of records and victory created by others through the act of “running.” By adopting abstract smear frames and a rough, painterly style, we sought to convey, in a sensory way, her spiritual rebirth as an idol (a performer).

**"Appo-kun and Appuppu"** is an animated short created for the TV Tokyo children's program Synapusyu. The film follows Appo-kun, a cheerful apple character, as he cycles through a variety of facial expressions and invites children and parents to join in a playful face-making game inspired by the Japanese expression “appuppu.” Imitating facial expressions is one of the most natural ways for infants and toddlers to engage with others. This work was designed around simple character shapes, repetition, and rhythm to encourage children to smile, imitate, and actively participate while watching. uwabami was responsible for the character design, animation, and direction. Rather than creating a passive viewing experience, the goal was to create a piece that encourages parents and children to make faces together and share spontaneous reactions through play.

I created this work with the theme of visualizing the shifting lies and true feelings in love as emotional bugs. Throughout the piece, unstable motifs such as neon, sirens, and glitch noise are scattered throughout to express a psychological state in which the exhilaration of being drawn to someone and feelings of doubt coexist. While maintaining the glamour typical of an idol music video, I aimed for an atmosphere that feels somehow dangerous and addictive.

This is a documentary film created with the theme of preserving the atmosphere of Ms. Nagisa Shoji’s birthday event as it was on the day, along with the intensity of the live performance. This promotional video was created around the theme of supporting the “career changes” and “anxiety about taking on challenges” experienced by people working in the fashion industry. Through characters working from different positions, such as designers, sales staff, and merchandisers, it portrays feelings like “I want to grow more” and “I want to try something new.” Rather than being a simple service introduction video, it presents a story-driven depiction of their struggles and conflicts at work, as well as how they gradually become more positive through learning. It also centers on the copy, “In your future, there is a senior who has already moved a step ahead,” and the entire video was designed to convey an atmosphere in which people can move forward not by worrying alone, but through learning and connections with others. Beyond a purely advertising style, the video emphasizes the characters’ expressions, sense of distance, and the overall atmosphere, aiming to create a piece that allows viewers to overlay their own “future selves.”

Amid the cheers, the lights, and the wintry atmosphere, it captures the moments when the emotions of the members and the audience overlap, expressing the exhilaration and transience that are unique to live performances. In addition to the performance itself, we also valued the glances, expressions, the atmosphere during stage transitions, and the energy throughout the venue, with the aim of preserving the unique sense of warmth that existed only at that time and place. Rather than existing solely as a “record,” the structure of the video is meant to evoke the memories of those who watched the live show and convey that intensity even to those who did not.

For Reiwa 8 as well, I was again in charge of the key visual for the call for proposals for the Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Creators Development Support Program. By combining 3DCG created with Blender, rotoscoping, and distinctive textural expressions using a thermal printer, I built a tactile visual world in which digital and analog elements coexist comfortably. Existing values are depicted as a “school of fish,” or a collection of homogeneous individuals, while the newly emerging “egg” within it is expressed as a symbol of new values and perspectives nurtured through the support program. The sound design is by SOZEN OTSUBO. The delicate sound gives the entire video an organic sense of life.

The sound design for the attack video was handled by SKYTOPIA. The danceable sound, perfectly suited to the event, was created using cheers and bat sounds as source material.

During the campaign period, users aged 18 and under can enter eligible exhibitions and performances for free. Set against scenes that symbolize spring break, a man and a woman experience art. The work was created around a hopeful visual theme, serving as a gateway to new experiences. The sound design was by SOZEN OTSUBO, who has collaborated on projects with Hoshimiya Toto and others. A soft spring atmosphere is expressed through dazzling light, vivid colors, and rich tones.

Main visual for “FUNCORE,” a party planned to coincide with Kero Kero Bonito’s Sarah Bonito’s visit to Japan. Layering the pop sensibility that also resonates with J-pop and the humor of nerdcore onto the hard-edged presence of an acidic cyber bug, as if reconstructed from metal and synthetic resin, the work boldly crossovers between contrasting textures. The artist also took part as a VJ on the day of the event, controlling the space with a consistent graphic tone from the key visual to the venue design. During Sarah Bonito’s set, they performed as a VJ in a B2B with Monotone, pursuing a denser visual expression.
