NHK E-tele’s “The Wakey Show” music video for the September 2025 learning song, “The Song of Impressionism.” This song is about a character named “Marigold,” who is well-versed in art, and is themed around “a song that teaches you about the art movement Impressionism.” In the video, the “Motte Pets” dolls, which appear in various roles throughout the program, are dressed up as Impressionist painters, and the piece is edited so that Marigold and the painters seem to be singing together. I was responsible for the direction, character design for the painter costumes, magical CG, and editing, including compositing. Editing environment: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve

Music video for “Color Passion,” the May 2025 learning song from NHK E-Tele’s “The Wakey Show.” This song is performed by a character named “Marigool,” who is well versed in art, with the theme of “a song that teaches you how to mix paint colors.” Using a puppetry technique known in Japan as “face-revealing puppet manipulation,” which is still relatively unfamiliar there, the production was directed with a focus on making both the puppets and the human performers look wonderful. In addition to visual direction, I was also responsible for creating the background art and for editing (everything through compositing, excluding color grading). Editing environment: Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects

THE SPELLBOUND, a rock band formed by Masayuki Nakano of BOOM BOOM SATELLITES with Yusuke Kobayashi of THE NOVEMBERS as vocalist, was responsible for producing the music video (MV) and TV spot for “Subete ga Soko ni Arimasu You ni.” The song was written specifically as the ending theme for the fourth season of the TV anime Golden Kamuy. Having previously streamed live performances with a single camera, this work adopts an idea proposed by the band members and is composed as a single-take edit shot with one handheld camera. By focusing on lighting and movement, the piece was designed to place greater emphasis on the song and the band members, expressing a sense of immediacy and forward momentum reminiscent of a live performance.

“Searching for a place where the soul can rest, looking for the place where one’s own soul can shine” A delicate young man is crushed by the ordinary everyday world. Born as a human being, he finds it painful to exist: a weak, gentle soul that would be blown away if the wind were to blow over it is led by nature and comes to long to dance through the universe. The drawings and animation were created in Photoshop. The compositing was done using After Effects.
