NHK E-TV’s “Miitsuketa!” music video for “Rakuda Katabura.” This is a song about “Rakudashi-san,” a traveling camel character played by Toma Ikuta. Written and composed by Rekishi (Takafumi Ikeda), it’s a pop number full of healing vibes that helps ease your mind when you’re tired. Music video for “Christmas Starlight,” a December learning song from NHK E-tele’s “The Wakey Show.” It’s a song with the theme, “How about sending each other letters as Christmas presents?” Featuring all of the show’s puppet characters, as well as Elmo and Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. Blending live action, diorama, and hand-drawn animation, the video creates a world full of ideas to keep young viewers engaged. NHK E-tele’s “The Wakey Show” music video for the September 2025 learning song, “The Song of Impressionism.” This song is about a character named “Marigold,” who is well-versed in art, and is themed around “a song that teaches you about the art movement Impressionism.” In the video, the “Motte Pets” dolls, which appear in various roles throughout the program, are dressed up as Impressionist painters, and the piece is edited so that Marigold and the painters seem to be singing together. I was responsible for the direction, character design for the painter costumes, magical CG, and editing, including compositing. Music video for “Color Passion,” the May 2025 learning song from NHK E-Tele’s “The Wakey Show.” This song is performed by a character named “Marigool,” who is well versed in art, with the theme of “a song that teaches you how to mix paint colors.” Using a puppetry technique known in Japan as “face-revealing puppet manipulation,” which is still relatively unfamiliar there, the production was directed with a focus on making both the puppets and the human performers look wonderful. In addition to visual direction, I was also responsible for creating the background art and for editing (everything through compositing, excluding color grading).
