NHK E-tele’s “Mittsuketa!” “Mouretsu ni Hassan!” music video. This song’s theme is to sing, dance, and “Hassan” away the stress you carry every day. From the nostalgic feel of the melody, we aimed for a high-energy video with a cheap, funny vibe reminiscent of the early days of CG in the Showa and Heisei eras. Within a visual structure where glitches occur in a chain reaction across the desktop, I implemented a browser-crasher-like window proliferation effect using p5.js. Drawing on early internet culture and the UI context of PC screens, I designed the interface and motion of windows that self-replicate.

A music video created for an in-game song from Bandai Namco Entertainment’s social game The Idolmaster Gakuen. The character Hanami Saki was a top athlete in track and field before aspiring to become an idol, and she has a past in which, due to being a late bloomer, she confronted the limits of her abilities at a young age and suffered setbacks. The song’s theme portrays her “setbacks and challenges,” making for an absurd tale in which she moves back and forth between the reality of the setbacks she experienced in the past and the uncertain glory of the future. In the end, she attempts to break through her own limits. To make this pulp-fiction-like story convincing, we aimed for a meditative music video in which the past and future are suspended, combining the image of sequential photographs that draw the viewer’s consciousness back into the past with animation that propels her into the future to the sound of drum and bass. The spirit of craving victory that she cultivated in her years as an athlete, caught between ideals and reality, shakes off notions of records and victory created by others through the act of “running.” By adopting abstract smear frames and a rough, painterly style, we sought to convey, in a sensory way, her spiritual rebirth as an idol (a performer).

"Revival Day" is a program that gives people the chance to reunite, just once more, with someone who is no longer in this world. In the program, the reunion between Tetsuro Degawa and his biological mother, who passed away eight years ago, is recreated. Whatever was responsible for planning and technical direction, art direction, and the production of the making-of movie "Behind the scene." ーーー [Creator's Comment] What I paid the most attention to on the art direction side was keeping television-style direction to a minimum, so that viewers could focus on the conversation between Degawa and his mother, Yasuko. For that reason, I proposed an extremely simple set design consisting of only chairs and a monitor. On the technology side, the biggest challenge was the complete lack of reference photos and footage. A few low-resolution printed photos, and a lucky find: about 15 seconds of footage of Degawa and Yasuko appearing together for the only time. There was almost no audio data. Under those circumstances, recreating a person from the past with CG was an extremely difficult task. The CG production process used Autodesk Maya for modeling; VICON + Faceware + IGS + MotionBuilder were integrated and rendered in Unreal Engine; grading was done in DaVinci Resolve + MISTIKA; and compositing was done in Nuke. However, unlike ordinary CG production work, we repeatedly made small adjustments while tracing the family's memories and checked them over and over, gradually bringing Yasuko closer to life. Based on the images inspired by the music, original hand-drawn illustrations were created for each scene and used to construct the music video. The movement within the video was built from those original drawings, incorporating AI technology while preserving the texture and nuances of the hand-drawn work as it was developed into moving images. In addition, these original drawings were compiled into a ZINE as part of the artist’s own body of work and exhibited at “Here is ZINE Tokyo #22,” held in Aoyama, Tokyo, in February 2026. Rather than stopping at completion as a video work, the project expands its world by translating the original drawings born during the production process into an analog medium, crossing the boundary between moving image and printed matter. Starting from the traces of hand drawing, this project developed into a distinctive artwork that moves back and forth between analog and digital through a process that unfolds from still images into time-based expression. Noise;nse is a work that explores various aspects of reality through changes brought about by visual noise. The sound of a car engine, the wavering patterns of curtains—our surroundings are filled with noise that places a burden on the senses. What is noise to humans is a foothold for technology to perceive reality. Could there be a world of noise known only to technology? In this work, by adding the direction, distance, and color of light to two pieces of fabric and generating visual noise—such as periodic misalignment and distortion—it expresses how the patterns of plants are transformed. Striped moiré patterns appear around the fabric, while different patterns emerge in the plants sandwiched between the fabrics. These are changes in noise caused by the unique unevenness of the plants.

I was responsible for directing, art direction, editing, and animation for Chara’s “Ai no Heaven” music video. A man and a woman searching for the whereabouts of love timidly grope their way through uncertainty, as if trying to confirm something unsure, wandering and drifting aimlessly. Moving back and forth through spaces of different colors that express the wavering emotions that change from moment to moment, believing that beyond where their innocent souls arrive, there is surely an “Ai no Heaven.”
