An educational project conceived as a way to explore, discover, catch, observe, gather knowledge, and expand curiosity with one’s own body. In the Forest of Extinct Animals, extinct animals live. When you approach or touch the animals, they run away or turn around. You catch various kinds of extinct animals, observe them, and build your own collection encyclopedia. Using the smartphone camera, you look at the animals walking through the space, and when you cast the “eye of observation” at the animal visible on the screen, it flies into the real space. When the “eye of observation” hits the animal, it disappears from the space and enters your smartphone, where it is collected. When you swipe a captured animal to a place visible through the camera, it is released and returns to that spot. Also, if you cast an “observation net” wherever you like, an “observation net” will be spread at your feet. Working together with the people around you and using your body to drive the animals into the “observation net,” the animals disappear from the space and are collected in the encyclopedia in the same way. The collection encyclopedia fills in more detailed information the more times you catch the same animal. Among countless cellular entities, artificial interventions influenced by human presence destroy them, drawing vortices in the process. Yet the painted image receives a continuous influx of energy from outside, autonomously forming a highly ordered steady state of energy, then being once again covered over by newly born cellular entities and returning. Countless particles, and the painted image as well, are all part of the whole, born from the whole and reduced back into the whole. Description: A work to be experienced while lying down, or sitting, in a state of bodily relaxation. The movement of hundreds of thousands of birds is beautiful and mysterious, appearing almost like one giant being. In other words, even when individual elements are separated in time and space, if there is order among them, the components may be perceived as a single existence that transcends time and space. And even if their surface form or size changes greatly, or the components are replaced, that one existence is maintained and recognized as the same existence. This time-space existence opens up a new possibility of existence, different from a physical object. This work depicts that time-space existence. The “To the Scientists of the Future” series is a science video released on the official YouTube channel of the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), a Japanese public research institution. It is produced to promote NIMS while widely sharing the appeal and fascination of materials research. Episode #20, “Trapping Light,” is a video about the origins of optical technologies that confine and control light within matter, typified by optical fibers.

A popular piece of content familiar to visitors at Mizuho PayPay Dome has been reimagined in naked-eye 3D for a large vision display in Tenjin, Fukuoka. QTnet’s mascot, Konekto-kun, and his friends leap out, bounce around, and move toward the viewer, creating a sense of depth as if they were reaching beyond the screen. By blending their fluffy, approachable character design with 3D expression, the work achieves a presence that feels almost “alive” in the middle of the city. The result is a signage piece with such visual impact and immersion that passersby can’t help but stop and look. In addition, KOO-KI’s KAI HARAGUCHI also directed the Hawks Vision at Mizuho PayPay Dome and the TV commercial.

Yurado, a girl who admires her mother, a Pokémon battle commentator. She lives happily with Kangaskhan, and today too, she’s in front of her diorama, pretending to be a commentator. “Mother is about to begin very important work, so I beseech you to keep quiet!” Though she is asked this, Yurado ends up making a diorama with Kangaskhan. Their time limit is until the battle tournament ends! Yurado and Kangaskhan set out to build a huge, huge diorama, but then an incident occurs...!?

This Tokyo Dome performance was held as the finale of XG’s first world tour, [XG 1st WORLD TOUR “The first HOWL”]. COSMIC LAB created the content by developing a unique system that freely integrates live camera footage with motion graphics and real-time VFX. It was a night that felt fitting for the grand finale of a world tour spanning nearly a year, with an electrifying stage performance that offered a glimpse into the future of live camera production.

Snake Line A video installation by filmmaker Shinichi Yamamoto and musician Tetsuji Ohno (Intercity-Express). Set at the biotope located at the edge of the forest within the expansive grounds of Nagaoka Institute of Design, the work features a 20-meter screen constructed from 40 connected LED displays. Positioned at the forest's margin — visible from the campus buildings — it unfolds amid the falling leaves of late autumn. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., the work continuously shifts in response to the changing quality of daylight, rain, and the darkness of night reflected across the water's surface. Emitting vivid, high-saturation color, the installation neither confronts nor overwhelms its natural surroundings, but settles quietly into the landscape. The sound, composed by Ohno, builds an ambient sonic environment rooted in field recordings of a suikinkutsu — a traditional Japanese water instrument. Snake Line was produced as part of VideoListening, a media art program directed by Shinichi Yamamoto.
