For the Winter 2022 collection of “UNIQLO and MARNI,” we produced a promotional movie and how-to video for the “Silk Furoshiki Scarf,” featuring eye-catching vivid patterns. We were responsible for both direction and production. Using stop-motion animation as the filming technique, the piece depicts imaginary creatures being wrapped in the furoshiki scarf, highlighting the product’s two-way functionality as both a scarf and a furoshiki. In addition, to emphasize the wrapping process, the film was constructed not with people doing the wrapping, but entirely with characters, props, and robotic arms dressed in the colors of the Silk Furoshiki Scarf. By having these elements move on their own and become wrapped, the film creates a unique visual world. The finished video is now available not only on UNIQLO’s official website, but also on UNIQLO’s global official Instagram account.
