As part of the Winter 2022 collection for “UNIQLO and MARNI,” we produced the promotional movie and how-to video for the vividly patterned “Silk Furoshiki Scarf.” We were responsible for both direction and production. Using stop-motion animation as the filming technique, the video depicts imaginary creatures being wrapped in the furoshiki scarf, highlighting that this item can be used not only as a scarf but also in two ways as a furoshiki. In addition, to emphasize the act of wrapping, the video is constructed not with people wrapping the scarf, but with characters, props, and a robot arm all dressed in the colors of the Silk Furoshiki Scarf, creating a distinctive world as they move on their own and become wrapped. The finished video is now available not only on UNIQLO’s official website, but also on UNIQLO Global’s official Instagram.

THE SPELLBOUND, a rock band formed by Masayuki Nakano of BOOM BOOM SATELLITES with Yusuke Kobayashi of THE NOVEMBERS as vocalist, was responsible for producing the music video (MV) and TV spot for “Subete ga Soko ni Arimasu You ni.” The song was written specifically as the ending theme for the fourth season of the TV anime Golden Kamuy. Having previously streamed live performances with a single camera, this work adopts an idea proposed by the band members and is composed as a single-take edit shot with one handheld camera. By focusing on lighting and movement, the piece was designed to place greater emphasis on the song and the band members, expressing a sense of immediacy and forward momentum reminiscent of a live performance.

Using stop-motion animation as the filming technique, the piece depicts imaginary creatures being wrapped in the furoshiki scarf, highlighting the product’s two-way functionality as both a scarf and a furoshiki. In addition, to emphasize the wrapping process, the film was constructed not with people doing the wrapping, but entirely with characters, props, and robotic arms dressed in the colors of the Silk Furoshiki Scarf. By having these elements move on their own and become wrapped, the film creates a unique visual world. The finished video is now available not only on UNIQLO’s official website, but also on UNIQLO’s global official Instagram account.
