Animation for a song from the ETV program “Inai Inai Baa!” With a focus on preserving the generous, open feel of the music, the visual development was composed especially from the rhythms and tones of the orchestral instruments. Clay, paper, cotton, lead, and acrylic paint were used for the forms. Each element appearing in the video was filmed separately by material and then composited. Currently broadcast irregularly within the program. It is also available on NHK Plus for one week after airing: https://www.nhk.jp/p/inaiinai/ts/E4G3263MG7/plus/

A work created as part of “Free Association,” a project that freely associates visuals from the music of in the blue shirt. A stop-motion MV for “Windfall” (short ver.), a track from the “Convex Mirror e.p.” released on 2024/04/24. With the completely open-ended, no-deadline creative brief, we challenged ourselves to: ・Create without a storyboard (developing the composition as we went along) ・Shoot with a webcam (especially aiming for a “low-quality” look)

VOQ「whoyouare」(PROGRESSIVES FOrM)

2014, 2018
Only Image
Music artist VOQ created this as the music video for “whoyouare,” a track from the second album VEILS, released by PROGRESSIVES FOrM in November 2018. While it is a music video, it is also a “painting of time” that repeatedly depicts similar images, intended as a visual expression by a painter seeking to observe the non-locality of where images reside. This work was originally produced for the exhibition “Unknown Nature” (2014) at Ayumi Gallery (Kagurazaka), curated by independent curator Chika Kato, and it is also the drawing-animation work The Last Indian (2014), paired with an early version of VOQ’s same song “whoyouare.”
