YUZU Special Exhibition “YUZUTOWN”

This work was created for the YUZU × Shibuya Pixel Art “YUZUTOWN Special Exhibition.”
It was created based on Yuzu’s song “Kōen-dōri.”
Last year, at the YUZUTOWN PARCO POPUP, we created a visual piece themed around Shibuya’s Kōen-dori, a place that holds deep significance for the two members of Yuzu.
This time, we reconstructed that work and finished it anew, focusing on the ever-changing city and the memories accumulated within it.
The way it shines like flashes of light represents the momentum of a city being transformed through Shibuya’s redevelopment, as well as the memories piled up there like digital log data.
Things that shine are proof that they are in motion. When there are many of them, they can look like a magnificent natural phenomenon.
The song “Kōen-dori” has a sense of nostalgia and sentimentality, while also conveying a positivity that evokes what lies ahead.
Looking back on memories of the past, and imagining how to create and enjoy a new era. We hope you can feel the sparkle of Kōen-dori that the two of them have walked through in this work.
