Description: We captured on film the production process and Mr. Sugimoto’s thoughts leading up to the creation of the Enoura Observatory, an artistic garden designed by contemporary artist Hiroshi Sugimoto and said to be the ultimate Sugimoto work. Rather than filming only the building itself, we wanted to create visuals that would also convey Mr. Sugimoto’s philosophy, so at the beginning we intercut imagery with Mr. Sugimoto’s striking words, creating a structure that broadens the viewer’s imagination, as if peeking slightly into Mr. Sugimoto’s own mind.
