“Being hurt by someone’s words, or hurting someone with your own words. Likewise, feeling hope from someone else’s words. And then realizing you’re not alone. Otamiramuz was responsible for the animated portion of the concept movie for the “MUJI x UR Danchi Renovation Project,” which was launched in June 2012 through a collaboration between UR Urban Renaissance Agency and MUJI HOUSE (Ryohin Keikaku), with the aim of presenting a new standard for rental renovation suited to the diverse lifestyles of modern Japan. In the concept movie, the main themes of this initiative are: - Danchi unit renovation - Whole-building renovation - Community renovation These themes are each expressed through simple line-drawing visuals. Based on communication with customers through columns and other content on the web, this project takes on renovation under the concept of “not demolishing too much, and not building too much,” while making use of the good history that danchi have, so that many people can continue to live comfortably there for a long time to come.
