E-tele’s “Numa ni Hamatte Kiite Mita” opening, key visuals, and clutch design We aimed to visualize the show’s concept of delving deeply into a different theme each week. Starting with the two MCs immersed in a wide variety of “numa” characters, the visuals express them being drenched head-to-toe by one “numa” after another as it rushes toward them, gradually seeping into their bodies.

This is an animation commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Ilf Doga Museum in Nagano Prefecture. I directed, animated, and handled the storyboards, and did everything except the music by myself. Based on Takei Takeo’s picture books, I created an animation that journeys through the story. After visiting Nagano Prefecture for research and filming, it was completed in about a month.

Without much funding and still relatively inexperienced, we felt they had strong overall potential, so we decided that we could simply let them, dance, and the song carry the piece. With that in mind, we aimed to create visuals that were as stripped down and efficient as possible. The key point was the typographic treatment of the lyrics, which we translated into English in a way that anyone could understand, making it a gimmick that would keep viewers watching until the end.

The second opening for the TV anime Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia. Set against the backdrop of the ancient Mesopotamian civilization of the BCE era, the animation features an organic visual direction that blends earth and sand with the gold and wealth of Gilgamesh, one of the story’s main characters. For the chorus section, the team explored new ways of combining key animation, motion graphics, and CG, aiming for visuals in which character animation, hand-drawn effects, and particle expressions influence one another. The production team consisted of the members who had previously worked on the opening of DARLING in the FRANXX, with Shun Yamaguchi, Kita, and Hanasaka joining the team to handle their respective parts.

Responsible for the TRIGGER corporate logo, avant motion graphics, and title logo animation for the feature film Promare. In the avant, we used motion graphics to abstractly express the spread of the Burnish as a phenomenon, serving as a prelude to the main story. In terms of the look as well, rather than simply using an old film look, we developed new shooting processes specifically for this project and applied special gradient treatment. The title logo animation was designed with the transition from the avant to the main film in mind, directly translating the energy of Promare into motion.

作品のテーマの一つである、対をなす赤と青の血をそれぞれOPのキーカラーとして使用。 season2のOPでは青のキーカラーから、空・海・泡といったイメージをメインモチーフとしている。 メインモチーフが有機的なものが多いため、x-particlesによる流体シュミュレーションや、タイポアニメーションにもゆらぎ、うねりを加えることで、細部に渡ってテーマに寄り添った表現を行っている。

Perfume Imaginary Museum “Time Warp” @ Perfume P.O.P Festival

A live performance held at the online festival on September 21, marking Perfume’s 20th anniversary and 15th anniversary since their major-label debut. The final date of the “P Cubed” tour, scheduled for February 26, was canceled due to COVID-19, and the team explored how to present their work online in response to the feelings left with nowhere to go, while making use of the data acquired for the tour performances. More filmmakers and CG artists than ever before took part in this production. Perfume Imaginary Museum “Time Warp” was streamed using a new video system that combines high-resolution footage shot on a green screen and low-resolution footage that allows free viewpoint movement (4D Views). Keying data was created by shooting on a green screen with eight cameras. Tracking information for the eight cameras was obtained through match moving. Using 4D Views data, continuous free-viewpoint camera movement became possible.

STORY: A YouTuber visits an abandoned building to film a video and encounters a geisha ghost covered in black. Gradually, his body loses its freedom, and he sinks into delusions; before he knows it, he has fallen under the geisha ghost’s spell. This is an independently produced work made because I wanted to create a horror piece. However, it ended up becoming a comedic one after all. ٩( ᐛ )و I didn’t have any particular obsession with it, but I created it mostly on instinct.

At the time, lyric videos were starting to get popular, and I wanted to make a music video with a stronger focus on text design, so I began developing the concept with the goal of creating something like an upgraded version of a lyric video. I thought lyric videos were effective for keeping people watching until the end, but I also felt that if we could make the experience feel a little deeper, people might want to watch it again and again, so I aimed to convert the lyrics into English with new interpretations included and give them more expression. Since many of the lyrics were abstract, I think the somewhat suggestive English translation worked pretty well.

Since there wasn’t much room in the shooting and editing conditions, I aimed for “Simple is best.” When I think of “Simple is best,” I think of the “dance cover” videos posted on Niconico and YouTube, so I used the so-called “dance cover” style as a motif and added various forms of expression to it, which resulted in this. As for the points I focused on, it was the lighting effects of the live switching.

Mori Nana, the rising new actress who was cast in a breakout role as the heroine in Weathering with You and received high praise for her performance in The Last Letter, covers the classic song “Smile,” released in 1996. Inspired by the title “Smile,” a music video was created to bring smiles to people in modern-day Japan. It captures Mori Nana’s genuine, unguarded smile in moments that are usually hard to see, including on actual shooting locations, during recording sessions with HOFF DYLAN, while livestreaming on Instagram Live, and while walking her beloved dog.

Produced the music video for “After That,” a song that brought back Misora Hibari’s singing voice using VOCALOID:AI. Takeshi Kitano, Lily Franky, EXILE ATSUSHI, Rino Sashihara, Nijiro Murakami, and Sena Nakajima. With the thought that “After That” is not just a song to reminisce about the past, but a song for the future, we had people from different generations, from 72 years old to 13 years old, each living with their own distinctive perspectives and values, listen to the song, and portrayed their raw emotions and words in portrait form.
