I worked on the motion graphics for "HILLS SAKURA JOURNEY," a cherry blossom festival event held across five Hills locations, including Roppongi Hills, Azabudai Hills, and Toranomon Hills, hosted by Mori Building Co., Ltd. — one of Japan’s leading urban development companies. The video was composed with the light, graceful movement of cherry blossom petals and vivid, eye-catching transitions. As an advertising video for the event campaign, it was shown on signage inside the Hills facilities, on the event website, and on social media.

I directed the music video for Jizou Sonzai name-less’s “Danzai Democracy.” We created an actual playable game, captured its gameplay footage, and used it to compose the entire MV. To suggest that words of justice can, before long, end up hurting people, the opening begins as a game about freeing people, but by using cheats it is reversed, and people end up being restrained instead. This is our first attempt to express the artist’s distinctive background through the medium of a game.

I was born and raised in Tokyo. In “Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter,” I express the changing seasons by combining AI and generative art, focusing on flowers that are familiar in everyday life, under the theme of flowers in the city and flowers in memory. The reason I chose flowers as a motif is that I felt there is a commonality between flowers and digital signage, which is the exhibition format of “Poems in Code — The Present of Generative Art / Moving Images Generated by Programming.” When you go to the center of Tokyo, there are eye-catching signs everywhere, and even waiting for a traffic light can feel like it passes very quickly. In daily life, when walking outside, it becomes a habit to focus on “getting to one’s destination,” and we end up forgetting to walk while noticing the changing seasons. Flowers that color the seasons are very colorful and beautiful, much like the signage in the city. However, I think we rarely take the time to observe those flowers closely or stop to look up their names. Likewise, we also do not often stop and carefully look at what is written on or displayed by signage. In this sense, I felt that flowers in the city and digital signage have something in common. All of the 3D flowers in the work are created by first generating 2D images with generative AI, then measuring their depth using AI functions and converting them into three-dimensional forms. The images are generated to resemble real flowers as closely as possible. Generative AI is good at capturing the characteristics of what it creates, but it is not perfect. By comparing them with real flowers, observing the differences, and recognizing flowers anew, I chose realistic images in the hope that they could link with the viewer’s memory and sensations. In addition, the AI-generated videos in the work use images of seasonal flowers created with generative AI. By re-outputting them as video, the shapes and colors of the flowers harmonize and begin to look like new flowers, becoming nameless flowers. I felt this process was close to how flowers are recognized in memory, so I incorporated this expression. Flowers in the city may exist in our memories as something vague and blurry, like AI-generated video. I created “Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter” with the hope that even in busy times, there can be moments to stop and enjoy the present.

“LOVE, Fulfillment” is an NFT series consisting of 10 works. It assigns rarity levels such as Secret Super Rare and Rare, and experiments with Foundation’s “Drop” feature. All images were generated by Midjourney (AI), and the video process was created in TouchDesigner. The visual inspiration for all the images comes from Gustav Klimt’s “Fulfilment.” The works were created around the theme of love, expressing diverse forms of love throughout the 10-piece series.

Yodaka was an ugly bird. One day, a hawk forces Yodaka to give back his name. Struggling against this, Yodaka comes to understand the rules of living in this world through pain. Starting from the idea of how we perceive the world, we look back at “The Nighthawk Star.” Then, three questions arise about “The Nighthawk Star”: ‧ What does “home” mean to Yodaka? ‧ Why does Yodaka burn himself up? ‧ Why does Yodaka desperately try to protect his own name? The answers to these three questions are sought through the process of creating the work based on “The Nighthawk Star.”

The animation “0:00 A.M.” was created based on my own experiences. Through this animation, I wanted to examine the theme of “time” from two directions. First, the difference between objective time and subjective time. At midnight, a salaryman came home and collapsed at the entrance. In fact, it happened in an instant. But in his imagination, this moment is stretched out, and may become one minute, one hour, or even one day. “One minute is always 60 seconds” — this kind of objective time is absolutely accurate. In contrast, subjective time contains many errors. However, I believe that within those errors lies human imagination. Therefore, through “0:00 A.M.,” I wanted to convey to viewers the fascination of that difference. Next is the “time” that animation itself possesses. The time in animation is created through the relationship between frame and frame. In producing “0:00 A.M.,” I intentionally rearranged the order of the frames without following objective time. By doing so, I hope to construct new relationships, create a new sense of time, and explore a new expressive method that visualizes subjective human thoughts.
