TV Anime “Detective Conan” Non-Credit OP × WANDS “RAISE INSIGHT”

I directed the opening visuals for the TV anime Detective Conan. Rather than simply putting together a standard opening, I wanted to somehow incorporate a “mystery,” and after thinking it through, I based the concept on the fact that the mysterious character revealed in this film is the one-eyed man, and decided to embed a message in the visuals when the left eyes of the main characters appearing in the footage are closed. To tie in with the film title as well, I structured the sequence so that Conan runs from Shibuya to Takeshiba Pier, and came up with a gimmick in which letters appear when half of the screen is mirrored along that route. During the broadcast period, I couldn’t help feeling like I was being chased by many detectives, so I couldn’t relax, but it seems many people took on the challenge of solving this mystery, and as a result it became a very enjoyable opening sequence for me personally as well. I was quite anxious because I couldn’t find the letters “W” and “T” for a long time, and I still remember the strange feeling of joy and relief mixed together when I finally found them at the intersection of the Shibuya pedestrian overpass and Shinichi’s Bridge. I would be happy if those who watched it would take a moment to think about what kind of mystery might be hidden within it.

Jizo Sonzai name-less "Danzai Democracy" GAME MV

I directed the music video for Jizou Sonzai name-less’s “Danzai Democracy.” We created an actual playable game, captured its gameplay footage, and used it to compose the entire MV. To suggest that words of justice can, before long, end up hurting people, the opening begins as a game about freeing people, but by using cheats it is reversed, and people end up being restrained instead. This is our first attempt to express the artist’s distinctive background through the medium of a game.

I directed the ending movie for the TV anime “pet.” After reading Mr. Ranjou Miyake’s difficult original work four and a half times, I visualized the images that emerged. While expressing the “Yama” and “Tani” that appear in the work as a mirror world, I also shot the chaotic scenes of Tokyo with a camera in hand, aiming to merge them with the characters. In the city, in the mountains. Both shoots were thrilling, and this became a highly significant turning point in my work. I also directed the opening movie at the same time. ▽TV Anime “pet” OP / Opening Theme “Chō no Tobu Suikō” by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure URL：https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIRSBfIs6xc

ASTERISM - Kaikai Kitan -

Description: I directed the music video for ASTERISM’s cover of “Kaikai Kitan,” by a band that debuted as an instrumental metal group. When I listened to the sounds played by the members, I had the sensation that the instruments were singing, and after thinking about how to visualize that, I had the members write down those sounds as lyrics. It was our first attempt at “instrumental lyrics,” and it was very fun to visualize the sounds they hear, matched to the music. I also directed the cover music videos for “unravel” and “Gurenge.” ▽ASTERISM - unravel https://youtu.be/CZ8aJPv616c?si=QZs1NuuC5KOihAO7 ▽ASTERISM - Gurenge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSSyLczsgeU

I directed a promotional video for SUBARU’s LAYBACK STI model. Unlike a typical location shoot, we filmed at Tsukuba Circuit, a course I had also driven on myself. Using the entire circuit, we focused on handling parts in the parking area. On the course, we raised the speed further and centered the shoot on aerodynamic parts. It was a shoot that reminded me once again that there is a beauty and a sense of joy that can only be seen when a vehicle is driven to its limits.

I directed a promotional video using Subaru Tecnica International’s Nürburgring-spec car. It was driven by SUBARU’s race driver Takuto Iguchi, and his speed range was beyond what I had expected; I remember the camera car having to run at an exceptionally high speed during filming. Also, as you may be able to tell from the footage, even when the car changed, he passed through the same line on every lap, which made switching between vehicles extremely easy, and I believe this work was made possible by the combined strength of a true professional driver.

Using Subaru Tecnica International’s WRX S208, I directed drift footage of world-renowned rally driver Toshihiro Arai. We captured Mr. Arai’s outstanding driving technique in a real-world setting. Drifting in a 4WD vehicle is said to be difficult, but Mr. Arai’s skills made this shoot possible. I handled the filming from the passenger seat myself, and I still remember being amazed at how smoothly the car moved despite its aggressive motion.

I had the privilege of directing a promotional video for the EV race car “E-RA,” developed by Subaru Tecnica International. Given the nature of the world premiere, the full vehicle would be revealed at the unveiling event, so I turned the fact that only part of the car could be shown to our advantage, using long, powerful beams of light in the shoot to evoke a sense of advanced technology and combativeness.
