When riding the bus, the “stop request button” that passengers press without much thought was reimagined as a communication tool connecting passengers and Nishinihon Railroad, and personified as “Tomarimasu Button-san.” The planning, direction, and lyrics for the original song were handled by Uehara of KOO-KI.

A CG animation that captures in a single shot a void-like space composed of motifs distilled from the imagery evoked by the music.

The theme of this piece is “visual image associated with sound.” This is an abstract visual image inspired by an analog drawing method called Pouring. Just like matière, an art technique in which poured paint flows together, this motion graphic visualizes what happens when we pour sound into an object. Here, we expressed how an object might react through its movement and textures. Exhibited at “Shinjuku Creators Festa 2017”

Mifuneyama Rakuen was created in 1845, in the late Edo period, on a site spanning 500,000 square meters. Over the course of long, long time, immense rocks, caves, and forests took shape here, and in each era, people have found meaning in them. One can feel that one’s own existence lies upon the long-continuing, seamless continuity of the workings of nature and humankind. teamLab’s “Digitized Nature” is a project in which digital technology, itself immaterial, allows “nature to become art as nature.” Using the forms of the giant rocks, caves, forests, and the garden itself, which has endured for centuries, as they are, we find meaning in these presences that transcend the self through a long passage of time, as “continuous life.” And in the present day as well, we wish to continue layering new meanings onto this place.

A design you can touch. A design you can bask in. In the middle of Tokyo, in Midtown, vegetables are growing now. Inside a greenhouse, they soak up the sun, photosynthesize, and absorb water to live. Their leaves, roots, flowers, and fruits—their shapes and colors—are the survival strategies of living organisms, and are design itself. First, touch the seven forms of life that thrive in the soil. Then, let your body be immersed in the design of vegetables, expanded through images and sound.
