@cosme「ART OF SHOPPING」

We planned and produced the generative movie “ART OF SHOPPING,” which plays on the display behind the register inside the new experiential flagship shop “@cosme TOKYO” in front of JR Harajuku Station.
“ART OF SHOPPING” is a video work that uses product images and product information, along with purchase times and other purchase-related data (POS data) from items bought at @cosme TOKYO, to generate kaleidoscope-like patterns in real time. By combining this with a range of @cosme’s proprietary data, such as review counts and Best Cosmetics awards, we developed a system that visually generates a wide variety of designs from the store’s most recent data. Furthermore, when the store is busy, the kaleidoscopic designs move more dynamically, allowing purchasing behavior within the store itself to be reflected in real time.
