“Because you’re a girl.”
With words like that, you may be restricted.
Although 15-year-old girls in Japan rank among the top in academic performance in math and science among OECD countries, the proportion of girls who go on to university or enter math- and science-related fields is low compared with other OECD countries.
Among the things said with “because you’re a girl,” there are also forms of “benevolent discrimination.”
“I want to learn, but I can’t.
Doesn’t that seem kind of wrong?”
