NHK Minna no Uta, an animated work created in conjunction with the October–November 2023 song “Take a Rest on the Canoe” by Kei Owada and LAGHEADS. Aiming to visually capture the dreamlike feeling of being gently rocked in a canoe in nature through a song that celebrates that comfort, we expressed it by blending hand-drawn animation with water-surface effects created in Houdini.

The art leaves its rooms and moves around, relating to and affecting other works. There are no boundaries between the works, and at times they blend together. A single world made up of these works, continuously connected without boundaries. "Hotta" and "Hisaya Daishi," who attend a high school in Arimatsu Town. Hotta notices that indigo paint has gotten on Hisaya's fingernails. Hisaya's family has run an Arimatsu shibori shop for generations, and he helps with the work. As the conversation unfolds, they end up making an Arimatsu shibori yukata. I made this work because I wanted to tell a story about the local culture of Nagoya. It is a story about the dyeing technique called Arimatsu shibori. The artwork was drawn on paper and colored using Photoshop.
