Based on the science film series “To Future Scientists,” which has been produced in a total of 15 installments, we created a song that conveys the fascination and appeal of materials science. The lyrics were written around the theme that even scientific substances with mysterious properties were originally born from the curiosity of a single individual, and the song combines footage of the experiments conducted in “To Future Scientists.”

The “To Future Scientists” series is a science video series published on the official YouTube channel of the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), a Japanese public research institute. It was created to promote NIMS and to widely share the fascination and appeal of materials science research. The theme of #17 is the “Curie engine.” Materials such as iron that are attracted to magnets stop being attracted when they reach a specific temperature (the Curie temperature), and become attracted to magnets again as the temperature drops. Using this property, an experimental device was designed to reveal its intriguing behavior through video.

Description: Directed, shot, and edited the mystery drama “The One Who Ends It,” distributed through “LINE NEWS” video content “VISION,” operated by LINE Corporation, from the vertical video production label “Jouge Kankei W (World).” This is our representative shuntaro’s first drama as a director. A mystery in which police officer Takuya Shimizu (Tetsuji Tamayama), together with his partner, young police officer Kyoya Hasui (Ami Okayama), investigates the truth behind a gruesome murder case involving the merging of a corpse and a mannequin. From singer-songwriter RIQUO’s album “TWIN PIANOS,” a short animation set to the song “The Meaning Of Love.” A singer sings of the meaning of love amid sounds that echo and travel through water. “How many springs have passed since we first met? And there are things known only to the two of us And now I am by your side That feeling I have when I’m singing I know it—this love is true” (excerpt from the lyrics) Like improvising within a jazz piece, this is a visual poem drawn from imagination, valuing feeling over meaning.
