Responsible for the animation production of NHK Minna no Uta’s August–September song “Orange March.” Inspired by the music and expanded the imagery while creating the work. In addition to hand-drawn 2D animation, they also experimented with a variety of techniques, including live action and 3DCG.

When I first heard this track titled “B1,” my impression was that it was heavy, underground, dark, and cool in a really stylish way, but I was especially drawn to the chorus and harmony parts woven into its intricate layers of sound. It gave me a sense of not being alone. And B1 also suggests a feeling of being underground. As I organized these elements, I began to think of a project that would depict the deeper emotions of the artist ID in an abstract space, with the surrounding area dimmed in black. While adding diagonal overhead angles and graphic elements that evoke the feeling of being watched by someone, I created a wide variety of shots. The emotional ups and downs were constructed by blending rough handheld work with fixed shots, crowded emotions were expressed through effects, and the cuts using red color throughout convey that, no matter the state or situation, we are human beings with blood running through our veins. Of course, because the situation itself was simple, my biggest focus was on how much the editing in post-production could bring the piece to life, and how to shoot it so that what I wanted to express could be captured. I was very particular about filming while calculating all of those factors.
