To mark the 15th anniversary of the picture book artist duo The Cabin Company, their first major solo exhibition, “Dōdō Sanka,” is being held. KOO-KI was responsible for the animation segment of the exhibited work “Clouds and Monuke.” Based on the directive to make it chaotic and free, we focused on staying true to The Cabin Company’s unique world and direction in our production. It was a lot of fun bringing these vibrant, life-filled works to life!

KOO-KI’s Keita Uehara directed the opening of SANCTUARY, the Netflix series by director Kan Eguchi of KOO-KI. The powerful physique of a sumo wrestler! The dynamic energy created by the scattering salt! To further amplify the momentum and tension of the main story, the opening was crafted with a bold, edgy approach. By the way, filming was done after removing the building portion of the sumo stable set at Toho Studios.

This is the final commercial for IMS, a landmark shopping complex in Tenjin, Fukuoka, which closed at the end of August 2021. In addition to the TV commercial, we also handled the overall closure campaign, including large hanging banners, website assets, various transit ads, and newspaper advertisements. The piece was designed so that the closure would not feel negative, so that it would not seem like a mere ending, and so that it would also convey gratitude to everyone who loved it. PR movie created to encourage people to visit Tenjin. Watching the people working in Tenjin bow one after another like a human domino effect is a spectacular sight! Because the concept was designed to deliver the message directly, the direction was also kept “straightforward” and “easy to understand.” The aim was to remind local residents of Tenjin, as going out to the shopping mall near home had become part of everyday life and people were starting to hesitate to make the trip into Tenjin.

“Chiisana Osoushiki” was launched in 2009 as a pioneer of web funerals. Even if it’s small, it’s still a funeral. Saying goodbye is something positive, and “looking back on memories together” is important. Funerals tend to evoke a sad impression, but the feelings of sending someone off and the emotions behind it are expressed through an upbeat song and illustrations. To convey that positivity in the video as well, it has been condensed into a tight two-minute piece.

The first installment conveys a message to people in the city who mistakenly believe that IMS, like other nearby commercial facilities, will close in March 2020, in a way that brings a smile to viewers’ faces.
