This video was produced for SONY’s new Xperia model, the Xperia 5 V.
Along with the request to depict the experience delivered by the new Xperia’s high-performance camera, it was also expected to be looped on an actual device in stores. To prevent screen burn-in, we needed to take measures such as reducing brightness and keeping the image constantly in motion so as not to place stress on specific pixels on the display. Based on that, we proposed a concept in which the screen keeps scrolling continuously. Since this was a video for smartphones, we determined that vertical scrolling would be particularly effective, and to minimize stress on specific pixels as much as possible, we incorporated techniques such as sliding vertical lines horizontally when using them, and using diagonal lines whenever possible.
