A laboratory led by visual artist C.O.L.O. It explores the expansion of perception through audio-visual experiences where the visible and invisible intersect. By stripping visual information of its semantics and breaking it down to the level of light before reconstructing it, the work generates an optical reality that resonates and massages the boundary between consciousness and the unconscious. Interacting with the collective deep consciousness embedded in festive spaces, it brings forth a “reality beyond imagination” formed by the accumulation of each audience member’s narrative.
Representative works include the performing arts project “FINALBY( )” with ∈Y∋ (BOREDOMS), the stage production “THE TRIP,” co-created with JEFF MILLS, and “Koyasan 1200 Years of Light,” which fused the chanting of 100 monks with projection mapping.
It also creates live visual direction for numerous musicians, including Hakushi Hasegawa.
With a focus on post-XR (Expanded Reality), it builds visual systems in which the boundaries between the physical and the virtual dissolve. This system has been permanently adopted at “Zepp Shinjuku (TOKYO) / ZERO TOKYO.”
Its roots lie in “FLOWER OF LIFE by BetaLand,” a party community originating in Burning Man and passing through Osaka’s Misono Universe. A project to extend Misono Universe into the metaverse, “Universe 1956 -,” is also gradually underway.
