On 2015.6.11, a VR installation using a head-mounted display was exhibited at ASAHIxHIFANA “FEELTHESUPERDRY” held in Shanghai. This content lets viewers experience the world of beer in 360°. To create a sense of immersion in the visuals, we used the head-mounted display “GearVR.” We also used “Cinema4D” for the 3DCG and the 3D game engine “Unity” for development. The marine life and bubble effects were composed using CG animation. *Event: A club event in which creators from around the world collaborate, awakening the five senses through “beer” with music and experimental technology, and lighting up a night of jubilation. http://taki-lab.com/2015/06/16/asahibeer-feelthesuperdry/

A massive installation for Dubai Design Week using the LED façade of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. Inspired by the colossal tower rising from the earth to the sky, the installation begins in the magma deep underground and travels through layers of the earth’s crust, the deep sea, the ocean, the desert, the city, the mountains, the sky, and outer space, and then on beyond time and space. Surrounded by hundreds of people, it raises a fantastical pillar of light in the pitch-black Middle Eastern night, inviting viewers on a journey of ascension.

Description: Countless jiggling lights keep racing through an infinitely expanding space, where even depth is impossible to perceive. This work explores the question: “Even if the constituent elements are separated in space and time, when a different order is formed and they overlap, does it become the universe?” The jiggling lights are sculptures from teamLab’s art project “Cognitive Sculpture,” which do not exist in the physical world, but exist in the world of perception.
