「未来の科学者たちへ」シリーズは、日本の公的研究機関である、物質・材料研究機構（NIMS）のPRのため、NIMSの広報サイト「材料のチカラ」内で公開されています。主に高校生・大学生をターゲットとし、NIMSの研究対象である様々な物質・材料が持つ興味深い特性や、科学的知識を基礎に物事を「想像する」面白さを、シンプルで明快な映像により表現しました。#14では、#09で取り上げた「超撥水材料」に再び焦点をあて、単純に水をはじくのにとどまらない、超撥水材料が持つ可能性を2つの実験を通して浮かび上がらせました。

マルマン株式会社のロングセラー商品「図案」ブックの60周年記念のアニメーションです。 紙に何かを描きながらアイデアを練っている時の、無意識に思考がどんどん飛躍していく様子をアニメーションにしました。 図案ブックの表紙カラー2色でアニメーションを展開しました。

The “To the Scientists of the Future” series is a science video released on the official YouTube channel of the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), a Japanese public research institution. It is produced to promote NIMS while widely sharing the appeal and fascination of materials research. Episode #20, “Trapping Light,” is a video about the origins of optical technologies that confine and control light within matter, typified by optical fibers.
