Description: Countless jiggling lights keep racing through an infinitely expanding space, where even depth is impossible to perceive. This work explores the question: “Even if the constituent elements are separated in space and time, when a different order is formed and they overlap, does it become the universe?” The jiggling lights are sculptures from teamLab’s art project “Cognitive Sculpture,” which do not exist in the physical world, but exist in the world of perception. Shimonoseki and Moji—the appeal of these two areas on either side of the Kanmon Strait—are brought vividly to life through CG, cutout animation, and more.

This music video was made with the intention of capturing the present moment in 2020, based on the world of the song. With documentary and portrait-like elements, we aimed to record symbolic landscapes, people living in the present, and the artist himself in a documentary-style manner. I hope it becomes a visual piece that people will one day look back on and remember 2020.

Produced as part of “SONGWORKS,” a fan-created project that freely interprets The Songbards’ song “Natsu no Jūryoku” (“Gravity of Summer”). This animated work was inspired by the song’s summery atmosphere and lyrics.
