KIRINJI「Rainy Runway」Music Video

A man immersed in delight. Having seen not only his own “outside” but also his “inside,” he was freed from anxiety and fear toward an unfathomable beauty, and was immersed in delight. The beauty he saw then was something grand and endlessly expansive, like the universe; he was like a cherry tree towering in the “outside,” nourished by the various things within, through the veins spread throughout his whole body. In contrast to the outside world that can only be seen through the eyes captured by a lens, CG (the beautiful thing he saw) is expressed as another world within the body, yet different from reality; this video uses pixelated animation made from live action and 3DCG.

This is the music video for Takashi Nakatsuka’s song “Ladies and PAC-MAN,” included on the PAC-MAN 40th anniversary compilation album, “JOIN THE PAC - PAC-MAN 40th ANNIVERSARY ALBUM -”. Inspired by a night spent dancing in the world of Pac-Man, I created it around the themes of dance and fashion. The 1980s, when Pac-Man was born, now feel strangely futuristic, and with that future in mind, I developed the visuals with an awareness of visualizing the sound. The more you listen to Nakatsuka’s music, the more intricate it becomes, and you discover something new each time. This track was exactly the same. I’ve incorporated that kind of intricacy throughout the artwork. I’d be happy if viewers could watch it and experience it while feeling those things.
