A romantic comedy film adaptation of the hit romance manga “Loving Yamada at Lv999,” which was serialized on the manga app GANMA! and was also adapted into a TV anime in 2023. Akane Kinoshita, a college student who has just been dumped by her boyfriend, meets Akito Yamada, a coolly curt high school pro gamer, through the online game Forest Of Savior. Though he is usually unfriendly, Akane gradually finds herself drawn to Yamada, who occasionally shows an unconscious kindness. However, despite having no interest in romance, Yamada is wildly popular with everyone around him, making him a formidable “boss” of the highest difficulty to攻略 as a love interest. Ryuto Sakuma of “Sorry About My Younger Brothers” stars as Yamada, while Mizuki Yamashita of “The Lies of the Eleven Students” plays Akane. They are joined by singer-songwriter NOA, Rui Tsukishima from the TV drama “When Takagi-san Teases,” the comedy duo Kuukikai-Dan’s Mogra Suzuki, and Mahiru Koda from “Riding in a Summer Film.” Directed by Yuka Yasukawa of “My Broken Mariko,” with the screenplay written by Anna Kawahara of “Character.”

A live-action romantic comedy adaptation of the popular comic by Hatsuharu, which has been serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend since 2018 and was turned into a TV anime in 2023, starring Riko Fukumoto from My Love That Won’t Reach and the SixTONES member Jesse. Isaku Senagaki lost both her parents at a young age and was raised by her grandfather, the head of the Senagaki family, a yakuza clan. Traumatized by never having been able to make friends because she is the granddaughter of a gangster family, she decides to hide her background in high school and live an ordinary life of love and youth. However, Keiya Utou, the young heir of the Senagaki family and Isaku’s caretaker, is so overprotective that he falsifies his age to enroll secretly at the same high school, declaring that he will act as her “guard dog” and bodyguard. Though Isaku is bewildered by him, she struggles to protect the school life she has longed for... Mikio Tananuki, the grandson of the head of the Tananuki family, a sibling clan allied with the Senagaki family, and who transfers to the same high school as Isaku and Keiya, is played by Kaito Sakurai from the live-action adaptation of Oshi no Ko. Keiichi Kobayashi, director of We Made a Beautiful Bouquet, helms the film, with Yosuke Masaike of Anime Supremacy! writing the screenplay.

A human suspense drama set in a single location, depicting how the truth behind a woman’s death is uncovered during a memorial gathering held on the 49th day after her suicide. Madoka Takahashi gathers people who were close to her late best friend Yuko Kawai at the share house where Yuko had lived, and holds a memorial service for her on the 49th day after her suicide. Visitors to the share house include Yuko’s coworkers Akiko Matsui and Kaori Niioka, her roommates Sunny and Yuri, and her ex-boyfriend Yasushi Yokoyama, among other eccentric characters. The memorial begins in a solemn mood, but Madoka has a hidden purpose. Along with stories about Yuko, she gradually steers the conversation toward why Yuko was driven to take her own life. Before long, Pancho, who comes to deliver pizza, and Hikoto Shinozuka, Akiko’s ex-boyfriend, are also drawn into the gathering, and astonishing connections and facts slowly come to light. Nana Asakawa from the “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” series plays the lead role of Madoka, alongside Momoko Tanabe, Nao Hoshino, Ami Tomite, Gaku Sano, Riho Takada, and Ryuuji Harada. Yuuji Nakamae, who directed Tida: I Want to Walk Under the Sun Someday, served as both director and screenwriter.

Fujiyoshi Natsurin of the idol group Sakurazaka46 stars in her first leading film role in this social entertainment drama set in a high school newspaper club, depicting a group of students who expose the darkness of adults from the margins of society. Keiichi Kobayashi, director of Momoiro Sorao and Koi wa Hikari, is at the helm. Yui Tokoro, a first-year high school student and literature enthusiast, enrolls in the prestigious Sakuraba Gakuen High School, where her beloved young author, Konoha Midorimachi, is said to be attending, only to learn that Konoha is an unknown, mysterious figure. Asked by the president of the literature club, which she had hoped to join, to uncover Konoha’s true identity as a condition for membership, Yui decides to infiltrate the newspaper club, which is said to have the information. Though she is constantly tossed about by the club’s eccentric members, Yui gradually becomes fascinated by the appeal of newspapers and the work of reporters as she serves as a rookie newspaper club journalist. Before long, the hidden darkness within the school begins to come to light, forcing Yui to make a decision. Fujiyoshi plays the protagonist, Yui Tokoro, nicknamed Torokko, while up-and-coming young actors such as Akari Takaishi, Rinka Kumada, and Tomo Nakai co-star as members of the newspaper club and literature club. Shotaro Miyagawa, the original creator who was enrolled in the Film Department of Nihon University College of Art, turned an idea he came up with in high school into an original film proposal for a university class assignment, and it caught the attention of Takatomo Naoi, known as a producer behind projects such as Alps Stand no Hashi no Hō, who was then a part-time lecturer at the same faculty, leading to the film’s realization. Based on Miyagawa’s original concept, the screenplay was written by Daisuke Ohno, known for Tsujiura Renbo and Sayonara Elymantos.
