Expressed with a world built almost entirely without CG, using only lyrics. The video was created so that the artist would remain the main focus at all times, while still naturally drawing attention to the lyrics as well.

This work was created for an exhibition at “La Samaritaine,” a long-established Parisian department store founded in 1869. Taking the Zen phrase “Fūkō Hibi Arata” as its keyword, and with the theme of the ever-shifting everyday in reality and the virtual, it was presented as a symbolic work for an exhibition that reinterprets Art Nouveau in the present day. The peacock depicted here is based on an Art Nouveau fresco painted across the entire uppermost level of the atrium at La Samaritaine. Through “raster scroll,” a technique used in side-scrolling video games, it was transformed into an animation of pixelated nature in which no frame is ever the same. It presents the beauty of a new nature in the contemporary world where reality and the virtual overlap, as well as a new abundance for humankind that lives in harmony with it. The pixelated plants may wither, yet they bloom with new flowers.

KITCHEN & COMPANY, MIKATA, and WOW collaborated on the Teijin Group’s 100th anniversary project. Looking toward the next 100 years, they declared “FUTURE NAVIGATION” as a global message shared around the world. At the same time, they launched the “THINK HUMAN PROJECT” to explore ways to improve the future quality of life for people through nine experimental projects. WOW was responsible for directing and producing the TV commercial and OOH campaign for the “FUTURE NAVIGATION” declaration. To express a project that reexamines humanity from multiple perspectives, the visuals and story were built around the idea of reducing human beings to an unknown entity. What separates humans from objects? How should humans interact with their environment? What does it mean for human beings to live as human beings? Through a variety of angles and forms of expression, this work confronts these questions, which have no clear answers. By boldly yet delicately transforming sensitive motifs, it aimed to create a uniquely beautiful yet poisonous world.

This work received the Jury Prize in the Morisawa category at the VGT Motion Award 2025. The theme was “Motion graphics that bring out the new appeal of fonts.” In response to this theme, I defined the new appeal of fonts as “the joy of choosing a font.” I created this piece with the concept of conveying that joy, especially in an era when anyone can create, express, and produce creative work. Rather than relying on my own colorful and pop-style expression, I aimed for motion that is simple yet meaningful, aligned with the composition, BGM, and overall concept.
