ORANGE RANGE 25th Anniversary Single Inspired by the music video for the artist’s song “Ya-Ya-Ya,” created 15 years ago, this piece was directed and animated by Takeru Shibuya, who was a high school student at the time and a huge ORANGE RANGE fan. The characters return, power-up style. It’s a delight for longtime fans. Takeru Shibuya’s signature pop yet edgy lowbrow style matches ORANGE RANGE’s music perfectly, creating a one-of-a-kind world. Character design by Shashamin, collage animation by onnnacodomo, 3D animation by Ryu Nishiyama, and background design by Hanae Sugi.

Under the direction of Hideyuki Ishii, I participated as an Animation Director / 2D Animator alongside 3D Animator Ryu Nishiyama. The 2D animation and effect animation sections were drawn on drawing paper using colored pencils, markers, crayons, and other materials, then photographed and assembled into the final work. The result has a warm, approachable texture reminiscent of the 90s.
