An independently produced work. It aims for a high level of synchronization between sound and image, tracing the unrelenting, tense music. The flat yet intricate visuals tell a short story through fleeting, repeated changes.

Visualizing the idea of “creating a new me through my encounter with NEWoMan Yokohama.” The film expresses the process by which, in the midst of everyday life, curiosity is sparked, leading one to discover their hidden many sides, uncover the unfamiliar self—“the unknown, me.”—and gradually shape a richer, more confident “me,” along with the joy this brings to life.

A special video piece that delves into Hakushi Hasegawa as a person by turning his interview audio, in which he answers 13 questions, into newly shot visuals. By watching 13 loosely unified omnibus segments created with a variety of techniques—2D motion graphics, full CG, live action, and more—alongside Hasegawa’s elusive words, the work becomes something that can be interpreted in many different ways, both in terms of what he says and what he does not say.

We aimed to create a work that pursued “coolness.” By drastically reducing the amount of color and unifying the overall visual look, then increasing the volume of color information during the chorus to excite the viewer, the piece also carries a somewhat satirical view of society: that this kind of “coolness” may in fact be a “violence of information overload.” It is also a work in which I confronted something fundamental at the root of my own creative practice. I also believe that by ignoring readability in the graphic elements, I was able to push the true potential of the designer to the limit.
