Based on the common situation illustrators face—“comedic or gimmicky drawings get more attention, but I want people to see my serious work”—it visualizes both the momentum and the chaos with a social media-like tempo and an information-overloaded screen composition. This work portrays, with unfiltered intensity, the moment when the exhilaration of going viral clashes with the honest feelings behind creation.

Based on the atmosphere of classic galge/eroge, this is a wildly over-the-top 8-bit music video made with fun and momentum as the top priority. While borrowing the signature visual direction and symbolic designs of dating sims, the structure is built to keep firing off gags at a brisk pace. Rather than worrying too much about the limitations of pixel art, it fully commits to overwhelming the viewer through dense visuals and editing rhythm. In this work, the “paradise” feeling that comes with the harem setup is also treated as an important element. I poured a flood of convenient dreams and excessive happiness into the visuals. By handling the direction, pixel art creation, and editing all myself, I aimed to create a music video that puts its upbeat energy front and center.

A music video that reconstructs the histories of TUBE and THE ALFEE, two bands with long careers, through pixel art. The fan bases of both bands strongly overlap with the generation that grew up alongside the dawn of gaming culture in the 1980s and 1990s. In this work, pixel art was adopted as a direct way to reach those visual memories, designing the visuals not as mere retro styling, but as a device that evokes the memories of an era. The video includes parodies centered on TUBE and THE ALFEE’s live performances, adding an element of delight for fans who enjoy spotting the original sources. By handling directing, editing, and pixel art creation consistently, the work goes beyond pixel-art visuals to create images that bring back memories of those days.
